I'm guessing VVEL is what's holding back Haltech?

As useful as this VVEL is in our engines it has been one hell of a bottle neck.

Bit of an update...

I am a bit behind, or at least not as far ahead as I had planned. I had a surgical procedure done about 5 weeks ago, and it should have taken only two to fully recover. It has taken twice as long for some reason, and there was a setback. I have had limited physical mobility the last couple of weeks, but things are starting to improve. Even the doctor was worried, and has been calling me once a day to see how I am doing…that doesn’t happen often.

Anyway, like I said there is improvement over the last few days, and if it continues to improve at this pace, I should be 100% by mid next week. Most of the exhaust side of things has been fabricated, and there are still a few pieces that need to be welded up solid (tacked right now). Once that is done the IC pipes are next, and those are simple, straight forward and will not take long to build.

My goal is still to have all the kits out to you guys by the end of December.

So after going back and forth between Sasha's kit and GTM's Twin SC, I'm gonna go with BP. Email traffic to GTM did not work in my favor and was unable to get details I needed from them. I got a couple replies from them, then just went silent. It's not completely their fault as my schedule is a 180 from theirs and by the time I can call, it's well past operating hours. On the other hand Sasha has been able to answer my inquiries promptly, and the savings going with his kit is substantial. At least $4500 in cost/install difference alone. Reselling parts will only increase the difference. I wish I can order now, but I just bankrolled $4300 to fly back to the states and see a dying family member. Even sending money next year, everything will sit in my garage for months. But knowing it's there waiting for me is better than hoping that I can get it when I return.

Edit: Just read your post, hope things heal up for you soon. Recovery sucks. You ever sell that last kit?

Good choice. The last kit is still up in the air in a way. Sort of spoken for at the moment, but not 100%. Thre are a couple of people ahead of you as well, in case this deal does not go through.

We appreciate the update Sasha. Sorry to hear about the longer than expected recovery from the surgery, but good to hear it's improving fast.

From your description of the doctor's attention, it seems like the health care system in Canada works after all

The end of December sounds perfect, if not no biggie (at least for me). I hope you take it easy and have a speedy recovery!

Thanks for understanding Hugh...and yes the healthcare system up here is good and works well for everybody. As for me, I am about 60% there, and it is still frustrating...but getting better. That is the most important thing. I should get a decent amount of work done over the next couple of days as well.

There's something in us as men that pushes us through to go an make that bread. I work in the oil patch and know this first hand. But I'm 30 now I have a bad knee and back, I've learned that you have to fully recover before you get back to work. Hope all is well Sasha and that you get a full and speedy recovery.

Completely agree. Being Military, no one wants to say they're too hurt to work. Even when they are given profiles, they exceed their limits continue to injure themselves. It doesn't help that profiles have a negative connotation, but that paper should not be used as an indicator for performance. Hell, being in this $hit hole as a Contractor is so much more mentally draining than it was in uniform. A lot of the Military stereotype contractors as not worth their paycheck. But every time I go back to my can, I'm mentally drained from banging my head on their piece of $hit network that is beyond comprehension in the sheer magnitude of it's terribleness. It looks like a hack job from the "Geek Squad".

For me it is not that, as I have great day job that pays well, and is more mental than physical.

It has to do with sticking to the schedule, and delivering the product on time, or when I said I would. I have developed a reputation over the last few years in this (Z) community, and I don't like to take a chance on loosing it. I am lucky enough to have so many (all) customers that are understanding. With close to 40 turbo kits sold out there, there isn't a single complaint that I have heard of, either directly or indirectly. That may be due to my dedication to communication, and delivery of a product that I 100% stand behind.

And now, back to work .

Take your time Sasha and get well my friend. We'll wait till you get back to a 100%. Health first, business after. The kits can wait.

And don't worry about your reputation. You're a one-man shop and obviously if something happens to you, it will of course affect the production of the kits. The fact that you're updating us about the delay due to your surgery, to me, means you don't hide stuff from your clients, which means you're an honest and trustworthy person to deal with. Transparency is something that is getting scarce in the automotive industry nowadays, and for that, I tip my hat off to you my good sir.

Get well and keep us posted.
