I would hope there is a rational explanation.

they don't want to be cloned.

1slow370 07-26-2011 03:59 AM

if somebody were to clone them they would just buy the whole damn kit used for cheap from some pissed off customer and repop the whole thing not just their F'ing manifold.

roplusbee 07-26-2011 05:19 AM

That is pretty lame. I mean.......are they moving units like that? Don't they build kits per order? I would think that the part that they would keep a stockpile on would be the manifold. I guess they are just awesome like that.....

Another update:

I'm driving about an hour away tomorrow to a friend who has the UpRev cable. We are going to reload the tune Z1 did for my car and adjust it a bit to see if bridging the MAF sensors helped at all. If not, the car goes back to my friend who did the exhaust... you won't believe the deal he is going to give me.

He has a spare vertical row ProCharger intercooler laying around with a single inlet/single outlet. He's going to modify it to be double top inlet/single outlet and he's going to redo the intake piping so it will look sort of like
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...l/P2270063.jpg
except the intercooler will be upside down. The intakes will go through the core support just like the Greddy/GTM kits do and we will rewir ethe MAFs back to stock and BAM...tuning issue solved!

I still have to figure out the overheating thing... it will take time to save up some money for a radiator/hood though.

Ron 07-29-2011 07:41 PM

 Can you draw me picture? haha Good luck!!

tranceformer 07-29-2011 07:53 PM

Yea IZ was thinking the same thing. I was gonna say try and find a gtm intercooler with the double top outlets. It makes sence thats how the supercharger works.

Way to thin outside of the box..............

Actually.... there's a possibility they would fit at that angle. I was looking at this on Saturday. The engine bay fender area would have to be bashed in a bit to fit the hot side of the turbo, but it may be able to be done. This would help keep temps down a bit since my downpipe goes across the front of the engine. BUT I'm not about to waste all the money I've alrady put into the piping...I'm only redoing half of it :bowrofl:

roplusbee 08-03-2011 01:54 AM

Woah......that is wassup right there. Are those HTA35Rs? If so that would be an ultra beast. Def need a built bottom end and strengthened valvetrain.........

98intrigue 08-08-2011 06:08 PM

I bit another big bullet today...ordered the CSF radiator from Z1 today. Let's hope this will take care of my coolant temps, because they climb pretty fast at idle.

So now with the bigger radiator and new intake piping, a new tune is in store over the next few weeks...and hopefully I can have a car that's finally 100%!

SPOHN 08-08-2011 06:09 PM

Nice. Hopefully soon you won't have to look back.

Dembflyr 08-08-2011 06:31 PM

Any pics of the new intake piping yet?

b1adesofcha0s 08-08-2011 08:31 PM

Good luck with the cooling man

The materials haven't came in yet, so I'm still driving the Z until it's ready to go in the garage.

roplusbee 08-09-2011 04:34 AM

Be careful dude...........

98intrigue 08-15-2011 10:34 PM

So I dropped off my car today at my friend's house. Things being done:

-Adding 18" Magnaflow resonator to get rid of the rasp
-Replacing band clamp to fix small exhaust leak
-All new 3" equal size/equal length intake piping
-Replacing Precision 750hp intercooler (horizontal fin 31.5"x10.3"x3.5" with 2.75" inlet/outlet) with ProCharger 550hp intercooler (vertical fin 18"x12.5"x3" with 3" inlet/outlet) and being modified for 3" dual inlet/single outlet
-Mounting Tial BOV on hot side of piping
-Rewiring MAFs back to OEM
-Replacing OEM radiator with CSF radiator

After this, the only thing left to do is fix my PS leak and get the car retuned.

Ron 08-15-2011 11:25 PM

Oh yeah!! How long is all that work gonna take?

SPOHN 08-16-2011 07:11 PM

I must of missed it somewhere but why are you going back to the OEM MAF and is that going to work/ fix any of those issues because of the changes your making?

98intrigue 08-16-2011 07:34 PM

CSF radiator

The last time my car was at Lutz, they bridged the MAFs to hopefully fix the tuning issue I was having because of the way the piping is. I decided to have the piping done RIGHT and now have to convert the MAFs back to OEM so I can have the car tuned properly.
