Damn Mike's car looks good. Any shots of it just like that but with the hood closed??

We may have to do the old vented wheel well liner mod to get some flow out for cooling and to relieve high pressure areas..something like this...Modshack?

Venting the fender liner like that might work, but I would probably recommend the usage of custom ducting if the true goal is brake cooling. Especially for the track guys. Luckily there seems to be room there to route some custom duct work and utilize the openings in the Stillen bumper. Though, I say that without having seen said bumper in person. (have yet to see Mike's...will do so shortly when I go by and bother him for ... something - haven't yet figured out what I need to bother him for)

BTW, it looks like Mike's bumper is doing what my old Stillen bumper did on my 350Z - bubbling up below the headlights in the sun. The urethane is nice since it flexes, but it doesn't take the sun well.

RCZ and others! The Audi TT has Louvered fender liners on each side to promote flow through the sidemount intercoolers. The VW boyz used to buy these and cut the louvers out to mount on their unvented liners....

These are flexible enough that they could be pop-riveted into the Z's liners and look pretty factory as the liner plastics are similar..

Oh ok, so RCZ are you expected to get your SuperCharger in June? Did you get the carb kit?

I'll let Josh or Kyle answer that, I have no idea. As far as the CARB kit, kinda. I'm going to be running a slightly modified CARB kit setup with custom tuning for 93octane gas. I have no intention on being legal in any state...

Yeah, Its very durable for sure and thats one of the things I need with the car being as low as it is. I was planning on having a radiator in the side vents rather than brake ducts. That's why I wanted air to flow out the fender well, not so much to get air to the brakes.

Hmm, I don't like that bubbling up issue at all if thats really the case. My car spends time under the florida sun and I can't have that happen...Maybe Mike can chime in when he sees this.

Yeah go take a look at it in person and let us know what you think. I haven't seen it in person either. Sometimes I really like it, other angles not as much. Its the functional aspect that tips the scales in its favor for me. So I'd appreciate an honest opinion about it in person. Gonna go ask in the ZdayZ thread too.

I saw Mike drive by a few times at ZDayZ... the bumper looks really sweet. It really lengthens the front end of the car.

You can clearly see it in the first pic of Mike's car posted above. So, yeah, you will have the same issue. Especially in the Florida sun. Mine on the 350Z did it during sun exposure but only during the summer time when the temps were really high out. At night it would go back to normal...that is...until...it stayed that way. Out of the blue, one day, the bubble never went back down. I sold it right away.


Yup, that's it. Unmistakable if you know what you are looking for. Hate to see this on a new product, but it's seemingly a byproduct of the material that it is made from. One thing I can't figure though - why does this only happen to Stillen bumpers? Never had the problem with any other urethane bumpers, even OEM.
