Sorry to hear this and I don't blame you. Hope you guys what your looking for in your future investment.

Nitex 08-24-2010 05:44 PM

^ i think they are just sick of waiting.

weiboy718 08-24-2010 05:46 PM

Waiting does sucks and gets very annoying.

Anybody considering a full custom tune instead?

RCZ 08-24-2010 05:48 PM

why go through all that trouble of returning when you are so close...weird. I was without my STI for like 6 months, but it was so good when I finally got it. Oh well, good luck guys.

were you also without your car for 6 months?

memorylasts 08-24-2010 06:08 PM

Im glad im waiting for all the bugs to be worked out of this, Im surprised, Josh or one of the guys at Stillen posted some thread this morning for a $2k give away from DSport or something in co-op with stillen, i can find the thread now. You would think they would update the mess they have here instead of staying silent...

Thread

Im not sure if they are fully avoiding the thread but for the sanity of you guys that are having issues they need to be in touch, I think they should also be posting what they are working on to fix the various problems.

I hope everything works out, for the better.

After my HFC's are installed, I'll get an Uprev and do a customer tune. My local shop managed 326HP with a setup close to mine (Stillen CAI, CBE and HFC vs me with Stillen CAI and Berk HFC and CBE).

326 at the wheels is enough for me, I guess. If I had the spare cash, I probably would have gone with the Stillen SC but I can't justify the expense at the moment.

My total expense on my setup is:

$975 for Berk CBE
$420 for Berk HFC
$350 for Stillen CAI (used)

Throw in the Uprev and a tune and I think my total cost is pretty reasonable.

Before I put the car on the Dyno I called Stillen and asked what the AFR target was and they came back with 11.5 You will not see that number even come close. The car is running very rich per the Stillen tune.

whiddles 08-24-2010 08:42 PM

I think i am also running a little rich. I will have to see the numbers. laptop keeps going dead to soon

whiddles 08-24-2010 09:04 PM

Its seems to be picky. as in sometimes my rpms still jump around while in (N). When i get on it hard i get a lot of black smoke im told. yours? I really need to data log it. I just started working again to drive it lol. Damn gas.

you're running rich! my car's running good for most of the time, just these 2 days our weather's been over 90 degree here and my car acted up.

whiddles 08-24-2010 09:16 PM

yeah same here. its been over a 100 this whole week. I though Stillen was coming out with a new tune but i gave up awhile ago. Im just now getting back into this.

i'm hoping for a new tune soon too! this one is still the best out of all of them but it still has some issues that needs to be dialed in.

whiddles 08-24-2010 09:34 PM

yeah same here. I have not talked to anyone at stillen sence the car was at uprev. I think I am going to get a custom tune when i get some cash rolling in again.

364whp thats it?!? Even with a CBE?? You should be looking at AT LEAST 420whp, I know it's a mustang dyno but even then it should be at 400whp especially with your CBE. Dude if I was you I'd be flipping out right now, that's a lot of $ invested and a lot of work put in.

A side question, did they actually weigh in the car at 3625lbs or did they just put in an arbitrary number?

I hope they get it resolved for you.

nope,
just tired of the waiting game...who say's they are close? they say the same thing every week....oh, we are learning a lot this week...no promises, no ETA...the fact it is very difficult to get in touch with them or even get a follow up with them. The time that my car has been there communication has been very poor. Random issues since my car was there first was the cable that didnt get to them for 2 and half weeks. Than saying my one of my TB was bad and had to get replaced and than now their main issue with tuning. I know Stillen is busy but every other week they take off somewhere leaving me without answers or follow up to let me know how my car is. I am very, very disappoint with Stillen especially since they are a big name that they would have came through the second time around with G/Z crowd.

Jamaica 08-25-2010 12:44 AM

hope everything will work out eventually!

:iagree: I will find out by the end of the week if they will give me a full refund. The only miles i have put on the supercharger is back and forth to to the shop that i got my work done at. Im tired of being strung along. Good luck to everyone else i hope they figure it out soon.

Nitex 08-25-2010 10:07 AM

Ok, so wifedrivens numbers are 368hp 279tq on a mustang dyno with stillens SC kit. Best numbers ive see NA so far on a mustang is 324/250(someone actually made 330+hp but could have been a fluke). So for 8-10 grand you get an extra 40hp and 30tq give or take. I realize elevation, temps, etc all are variables in this equation. But seriously.... 8-10grand for what? :wtf2:

bullitt5897 08-25-2010 10:11 AM

:wtf2:i know what I would do with 8-10k...

:icon18: if am thinking what your thinking and am pretty sure am thinking what you're thinking... i also think that option is not completely proven at this point... dont you think? ... unless your thinking the other thing am thinking which is the way more tone down option of what you've done... i think the issue would then be CARB certs since i think most of the ppl with the stillen kits are in Cali...

i also hope you get refunds on your kits... if not BBB might also be an option?

To be fair, can you post the dyno sheets.

Nitex 08-25-2010 12:15 PM

Search Semtex profile. I believe he has his dyno sheets up, and was one of the 320+ rwhp members. Also RCZ was at 310 before his SC. personally im at 300/233 on the stock tune on a mustang dyno. For me it would be a gain of 60hp and 30tq give or take a few (once im tuned) or 70/40 if i retain stock tune.

Anyone with a better dyno than mine that can post up?
http://i367.photobucket.com/albums/o...z/IMG_0273.jpg

theDreamer 08-25-2010 12:17 PM

You cannot compare your dyno run on dyno X against another like this.
The way to compare the progress or performance of these kits is to show the pre-kit dyno run and post kit installed & tuned.

Nitex 08-25-2010 12:18 PM

^^^ I agree to a certain extent... But i still would expect SC numbers to blow NA numbers out of the water. Regardless of diff dyno, day, heat, elevation.. etc.

lmao...so i bit my tongue and said things way to early...and didn't check my phone all Afternoon/Night and seen a call(voicemail) from Kyle. Saying they tested it for two hours straight and could not get the car into the limp mode.LMAO what a save.Fail on my part.

Meh i posted my own, with factory tune... and the difference is less and 70hp and 50 tq (even less when uprev tuned). However, as others have stated this is not the way to compare. Really the only one i know that would have all 3 would be someone like RCZ. He has, baseline dyno, bolt on dyno and SC dyno.

If this was a valid comparison, i would have to say 70hp and 50tq is a lot! especially on a mustang dyno. Im just not convinced its price to power ratio is were i want it to be. If i was a pure baller, throwing hundies in the air cause i can. Then maybe..

NYBladeZ 08-25-2010 02:33 PM

wifedrivenz, I don't mean to rag on you and I appreciate you posting the sheets but honestly man I think you need to go bust some balls at Stillen. I might be wrong but it looks like you have posted the lowest S/C hp/tq numbers of either kit. Something is clearly wrong. Either you have a very conservative tune, leak, or one of the bag Stillen tunes. 368whp and less than 300tq on a supercharged Z is ridiculous, 350z's made way more then that and that's with less displacement. Don't settle man you're getting robbed. RCZ has the Stillen kit and his numbers are way more than yours, I know a mustang dyno reads low but get it checked out.

tomnavone 08-25-2010 03:07 PM

Stillen was called today with the purpose of getting a refund for my kit and i was told to wait till next week. They supposedly have figured out a tune that they will release next week. Their test car is responding well to the new tune and i was told i wont be disapointed with the new tune. Whats one more week of waiting?:ugh2:

Let's hope they get it all sorted out, I have a car here at the shop waiting on it's tune (customer wants warranty).

Nitex 08-25-2010 03:18 PM

^^ I definitely think waiting another week or two is no sweat off your back at this point. I really do hope things work out for everyone, Stillen included. As i would hate to see any more products stop being created/supported for our car. Good luck tom!

Awesome news, but you have cause to be frustrated in the first place. Definately let us know how she feels when you get her back!
