If detonation is not normal and therefore should not not happen as some of you are promoting that belief, then why do all modern day engines have anti-knock sensors? The truth is, detonation can happen under certain conditions of loading in all engines and therefore it is normal to expect any engine to have detonation but not all the time of course. Just sayin'....:tiphat: Now, back to your bashing.

Detonation = new 4.5 stroker block. Its only $$$$$$$$.
stock stroker block 11.1 compression with bolts on's would make 375 rwhp easy. No sc issues, no tranny issues. and i bet that it would sound great. 7 At + stroker, 4.08 gears 3200 stall conveter and a VB. That would be one fast Z. Z |

ok, i didn't want to resort to the forum with this, but i'm not getting any resolution otherwise. Has anyone with this kit experienced engine knock? My car, what seems at random, seems to go into a different mode/map and i experience tip-in knock. When this occurs, the car also idles high, like 1200rpm instead of 700rpm. The knock occurs without any code being thrown. Also, when i turn off the car, and then start it again...it goes back to normal as if the ecu switched back to the regular tune/map.
Any insight appreciated. |
Different mode? wonder if your car is going into that phantom limp mode from MAF location..yikes. One piece of info though that might be useful is that my car was idling high a few weeks ago and threw a code. I just reset it and the code went away and so did the high idle. Problem never came back.
So the high idle is because of the issue and not part of it. |
