By the way, I forgot to mention that the customer's installation went very well. Here is the completed install pictures and the question has been answered definitively! Just like we said, the strut tower brace fits!

Kyle - any fit to a roadster in the works?
|
We have confirmed fitment on the roadster.. there is no discernable differences and we will be shipping those with the initial release. We are taking pre-orders at the intro pricing for those as well.

oh and its about time to see it on a Z ;) |
how much belt coverage do you have on the SC?
|
It looks good. there are just acouple of things i would have done differently, relocate the pump to pull from the reservoir and push the coolant through the intercooler, heatexchanger then back to the reservoir. This would effectively reverse the flow direction compared to what you have, as right now if someone were to put ice or some kind of supercooler in the reservoir it wouldn't be as effective as it would actually get warmed up passing through the front heat exchanger before it reached the intercooler. and i would have used a larger reservoir without the pressure cap that could fill the gap between the new manifold and where the reservoir is right now to increase the heat capacity of the system and make adding ice a breeze as well as improving the aesthetics.
|
I know I'd get flamed for this but who here has done this mod to their Z? Is the kit all I need for the modification (as in, will I encounter any problems such as blown engine or gearbox due to the ~500hp)? I'd like to do this to a stock Z in probably a year's time if the project seems worthwhile. Probably add an oil cooler as well.
|
You're most likely going to need a clutch to go along with your install.
|
Like RCZ said clutch, and oil cooler if you are a 6MT man or a valve body upgrade, oil cooler and tranny cooler if you are a 7AT man.

<3 u guys |
I'm still in shock ...... need time to recover ....... RCZ and Shumby agreeable and almost saying the same thing ..... at the same time .........
what has this forum done to you both?????????? |
Good work, guys (Stillen)
Kyle, I just talked to Steve and then to Sam about this kit the other week. Cool. Can't wait to be one of the first shops (besides you guys) to install this SC kit. :) It is nice to have other FI options available for the Z34 now. Too bad I probably won't be able to make this years open house (other priorities :() But there should be a few of my local San Diego customers there to represent at least. Tell Sean and Kenny (my sales reps there) hello for me.... To the rest of you who are going to the open house.... Stillen always has a pretty decent turn out at these things..... Have fun guys :) |
Haha I don't hold grudges, I just add to ignore list until I forget why I was mad and then all is good again. We all say dumb things at one time or another. Funny reaction though.
Back to Stillen SC thread. |

OK enough guys, just trying to be mature and keep from degrading this forum. Can we focus on Stillen's Supercharger? Anyone know how their open house event went? Any pictures up anywhere...I'm gonna search around.

There is one picture of the 370.
|
We had three cars with superchargers on display.. the red 370 outside.. the G37 that was in the Adam's Polishes booth doing demos.. as well as a black 370 in our assembly area where the supercharger seminar with Steve Millen.. as well as the complete kit components out on display..

lol.. I swear I saw 35 people with cameras in the air with it up on the dyno.. if youtube isn't littered with videos I'd be highly surprised..
same with the Steve Millen IMSA 300ZX TT #75 Race Car.. even though it only laid down 65 horsepower.. .. because it wouldn't hook the dyno.. the turbos spooled so fast it spun the wheels on the dyno drums.. LOL |
