When I read “12, 12, 17, 24...”, I was like “ooo 24psi, that’s spicy...”

Then comes “....30, 30”, I went :eek::eek::driving::driving:

Exactly, I won't know how the car will react. I am on the limits of traction. We shall see where it ends up. Sideways in the triple digits is not something I enjoy. It is going to take some additional tuning once on the road. I am not up for another trip to RT Tuning. Vince did a great job. I need someone closer. I have talked with Nick at SOHO. He is going to help me get it done. I currently can run 17psi or 25psi in all gears. It is just way over the top.

Spooler 03-11-2021 12:38 PM

By the way, I have no idea what the car will make on 30spi of boost. I would guess about 950whp or so. Gotta see in the FI CAC can dissipate the heat. Will be in a new realm of unknown again.

Spooler 03-21-2021 02:27 AM

Coil testing results. As long as you don't get a knockoff, the R35 GTR and the 370z coil packs test out the same. See video.

:bs: 4-digits

Sitting here looking at a yellow black car. The pine tree pollen is off the chart. Still patiently waiting for warm weather and no rain. Such a challenge some times.

Spooler 03-23-2021 10:23 AM

Gonna rinse the pollen off the car today and go for a rip. It will get a wash this weekend if the weather holds out. I am getting a little stir crazy working from home.

Why rinse it off? Just put the hammer down and blow it off... :driving::driving:

That is a no go, it is too thick.

Spooler 03-23-2021 11:49 AM

No since in doing this until I get a trans that will hold.

^^^^ This is my secret mod. It hurt to post it. LMAO!!!

Spooler 03-23-2021 11:51 PM

FYI, good video. I am not sure how my car is compared to others. Elmo370z appeared to like it. It is about comfort and soaking up the bumps. A harsh suspension sucks in my book. I prefer a firm compliant one.

Rode like oem

It rides better than an OEM Nismo suspension.

Just ordered my modified subframe from Brian at MA-Motorsports.

With reduced toe-in and negative camber gain during compression, this may become a must-have for big power guys with this chassis.

I am there. I am not sure how much I will gain but I do know it will be noticeable. It won't fix everything but it will make it much better. No such thing as Magic Fairy Dust.
It is a bunch of little things that add up to a big gain.

Spooler 03-24-2021 03:04 PM

718whp was fine. Above that and I struggle with traction. Boost by gear will also help. It is just another tool in the tool box.

Wonder how this will work on a road course?

Real good. These mods came from the Formula Drift guys. Hotrodz is going to do his at some point. I think I am ginny pigging for him. He pointed me to the Eccentrics in the first place. Talked with Brian and that is one of the things he uses to modify the subframe.

Spooler 03-24-2021 03:47 PM

I am having to slow my roll. Not many folks have keep it running long at this power level. I have elected to do some small changes in hopes of more traction before I put a slick on the car. I have to be careful because too much traction will eat the transmission. I am hoping SOHO comes through on this. Talked with a couple of folks about upgrading to a Tremec T56 Magnum like Grannas uses. Mazworx can make the bellhousing. The problem with that swap is the gear selection. Our trans has a single overdrive. The T56 has a double overdrive. It will be tough to work that out.

Spooler 03-24-2021 06:23 PM

Anybody else want to lead? I will gladly step out of the way.

BGTV8 03-25-2021 03:31 PM

QBE69G, Holinger HS6 or Albins ST6 transaxle

You are that far down the rabbit hole, this much trans is not a big percentage investment

Both the Quaife and Holinger can come with helical cut top gear so you don't get deafened by the straight cut gearset whine

I am trying my best to stay with an H pattern. A Holinger for me is 20k just for the transmission. I may end up there anyways. We shall see.

Spooler 03-26-2021 08:39 AM

Gonna have to slow the modified subframe down a bit. MA is backed up big time.

Spooler 03-27-2021 07:39 PM

Took the car out and had some fun today. Can't wait to get the new tires mounted. It was warm today but traction was limited.

You can get an RD6 in H pattern shift ...........

Spooler 03-28-2021 06:17 PM

Just ordered new front tires to go with the new back ones when I get them installed. Don't want to have different grip levels. If they were just a year old it wouldn't have been an issue but they are over 2 yrs old.

I will wait and see what SOHO comes up with on a modified Nissan trans. I got time.

Spooler 03-29-2021 09:27 PM

Finally found time to get to the body shop to get my new front bumper painted next week.

Spooler 03-30-2021 10:49 PM

Forgot to mention, I only made 16.2psi of boost last weekend on my 17psi setting. My plastic intake has a leak. Patiently waiting on my new intake manifold.

Bringing this back from the dead. I am going to take a little TQ away from the midrange to help with traction.

Spooler 03-31-2021 11:19 AM

Didn't realize my peak TQ was a little over 5k rpm at 25psi of boost. Yikes!!!!!!
No wonder it's a damn handful. Power under the curve is awesome. Nick will have his hands full getting it to calm down a bit. I am sure he can handle it.

Spooler 03-31-2021 02:19 PM

Now I know what doesn't work. Try Try again....

Spooler 03-31-2021 06:50 PM

Thinking about spraying some water/meth to keep the IAT's in check. I normally don't like it but I am pondering it. Trying to keep my mind open to new ideas.

Spooler 03-31-2021 07:07 PM

Need to have the car tuned on it. Ugg... Not sure on this. I have always stayed away.

Your car on meth. :rofl2:

Spooler 04-01-2021 07:19 AM

I think I am going to keep my original thought process. If my IAT's get hot, time for a bigger CAC/Intercooler or a turbo upgrade. I am out of my efficiency zone.

Spooler 04-01-2021 06:20 PM

I think I am gonna need this Big Arse SOB..
