I'd be getting a little antsy. No dig at Seb, but it's been that long and it still hasn't even been touched?

I'm sure it's been 'touched'. The motor is probably out, stripped and gone through the first round of prep. It's probably sitting right next to his car in a giant plastic bag, waiting for all the goodies to come in. I did notice that Specialty Z moved into a larger facility. Hopefully, it was fairly close to where they were at, it's kinda hard to move cars that are undriveable..... :twocents:

That cause Seb doesn't want you to go for round two. Don't follow my feetsteps.

Ah, I didn't realize he had moved shops. Also, I know there were 2-3 ahead of him, specifically BlueRanger, just still seemed a bit long.

That's fair enough.

That's fair enough.

My first time took a 1yr and 5 months.

Didn't realize it was quite that long. I guess once he gets to the point on the list, it'll go fairly quickly.

The motor has gone and come from the machine shop. It is just as Spooler stated he is doing a lot of R&D on his motor and doesn't want to start on mine until he gets things figured out.

I pulled out my wallet for my R&D. It is not fun. I have a dang good chance of being good to go this time. If Mazworx nails it, they will corner the market. LOL

I'm planning to go to TX2K this year. I'll definitely be watching for the SOHO car to see how it holds up.

I wish them good luck with it. More than one way to skin a cat.

Spooler 03-01-2020 09:51 PM

Motor is all disassembled and inspected. Looked good. I am sure cleaning is in the works. Moving on along.

Spooler 03-02-2020 07:13 PM

Yeap, got an email today. They are making some the end of May. I don't think they have ever made any. Not sure, I remember him mentioning something about them. Oh well.

I seen a box of King bearings in your trailer last year :ugh2:
It was in one of those boxes of leftover parts :icon14:

LOL, done looked. Those are Honda K series King rod bearings. Not sure how I got them.

sirnixalot 03-03-2020 07:49 AM

Those bearings only just got added to the catalog in Feb. It seems the only reason they made them is because the VR30DDTT carries the same journal size.

Why add something to a catalog that you haven't produced yet *table flip*

When a Performance engine builder says he want to use something that he has a good reason for, you let him. He made some phone calls back in January. He has connections.

sirnixalot 03-03-2020 09:25 AM

Oh I’m with your there. Just upset with King dragging their feet

Spooler 03-03-2020 01:31 PM

Block is being machine tomorrow for the Darton MID sleeves. No turning back now.

Spooler 03-03-2020 06:51 PM

Some days I want to through chit and break stuff. Not gonna lie, this is difficult having a do-over.

Wait until you blow 3 motors, then decide to go another route. :shakes head:

Well, I am not on my own. I have several people that have been helping me out. It is humbling. If it wasn't for them my car would have set for a year. Not because of money but because I was just done with it for a while.

By the way, 4 transmissions in my 1975 280zt. I have a love/hate relationship with that car. That is why it is still sitting in the garage.

Waiting on rods, pistons, and sleeves. Freaking Suckerpunch oil pump too. The hold up is the King rod bearings.

Mazworx doesn't mess around. I am sure he will be bugging King about our rod bearings.
