Jesus, Rusty deepthroats motors too. Now that would be some weird entertainment.

Spooler 03-20-2020 10:34 AM

Since I tell you guys too much information I asked not to know all the details. I don't want to give away any of Mazworx's secrets.

JARblue 03-20-2020 10:59 AM

How soon before you get it back and break your input shaft?

It will be a while. Waiting on King Rod bearings and a freaking oil pump.

Spooler 03-26-2020 10:49 AM

Machine work is moving on along.

Spooler 03-26-2020 11:12 AM

Mark is pulling out his bag of tricks, that's for sure. He is building me one hell of a motor.

Spooler 03-27-2020 11:30 AM

CP pistons are in hand with upgraded wrist pins. Darton MID sleeves are in the block. Moving on along.

Spooler 03-27-2020 01:49 PM

Larger Valves are installed in the heads and port work has been completed.

Well, that's baller!

Spooler 03-28-2020 10:26 PM

They are perty cool. We elected to not get them coated. It would have take an extra 2 weeks. Little did we know the Corona Virus would hit hard and mess everything up. Not really needed anyway for what I am doing. The block has not been decked, bored, or honed yet. I am sure that is in the works in the future.

Spooler 03-31-2020 11:29 AM

Just a little side track of the thread. Enjoy... One day I will finish my other car. Not many L28 Turbo guys left.

LOL, I sold my 1974 1/2 260z and regretted it. Later on I talked my friend Bill out of his 1978 280z. We switched cars. I had a 1983 2+2. Several years later he talked the car back off of me and bought it back. It wasn't even 6 months and I was regretting it. So, I bought my 1975 280zt that I still have. I will never sell it. Every time I do, I want another one 6 months later. They are way too hard and expensive to find these days.

old guy 04-04-2020 10:56 PM

I’ve always loved the 240 / 260 and the color orange, to have them both in one, really gets the juices flowing

Orange has never been my thang. I like a black one or a gray one with black accents.

Spooler 04-04-2020 11:36 PM

As much as I love the L28 engine in the car I am leaning toward going to an RB26. Way more performance parts available.

Yep, rb26 swap was what I wanted to do also. Either that or a 2jz swap.

Nope, still japanese. An LS swap would be blasphemy. :rofl2: Plus, a 2jz is a stout motor.

I only want 600whp. In at 1780lb car, 800whp is just not needed.

A V8 swap in an early Z car is called a Scarab. That was the thing to do back in the day. I will accept that more than a stupid 2JZ. The problem with most V8 swaps I see is they do not have enough tire on them or they try to Stance them. They look stupid and have no grip.

Spooler 04-05-2020 01:05 PM

Example: Looks and sounds great but the wheel/Tire fitment is hideous. I also freaking HATE the mirrors on the fenders. Looks stupid and it is not cool.

Anybody that knows anything about the early z's knows about scarab. Stupid 2jz? What is stupid about it? I'm not a toyota fan but the 2jz is a great motor.

And by the way, the 240z weighed closer to 2300#'s, not 1700.

Hmm, I would have to go look at my VIN plate on my car. 2300lb is still light. I am a dye hard Datsun/Nissan guy. Toyota is the enemy. LOL

I think 280's are closer to 2800. I'm a die hard Datsun/Nissan guy too but have a lot of respect for the tt supra and the 2jz motor.

They are fine in a YOTA, just not in a Datsun or Nissan. LOL
