Well, the clutch parts are still sitting at customs in NY. Tracspec vents haven't shipped yet either. This is so much fun. LMAO.

Spooler 06-12-2019 10:05 PM

Spooler 06-13-2019 09:52 AM

Glad you have some distractions from the wait

My Trackspec vents have made it to MA. Still waiting on clutch parts. Jon is trying to track them down. They should have been there already.

Checked out the pics, looks great!

Spooler 06-19-2019 12:53 PM

Waiting on a lift to open up to get the car back up in the air for the install. May not be until next week on Monday.

Elmo370z 06-20-2019 02:35 PM

Clutch is done. Rusty I am running the 1400kg pressure plate. The pedal pressure should be like stock or a little less from ATS's comments. It will support 1100hp and 800ft/lb of torque. Back to tuning shortly.

That's almost a 3,100 lb pressure plate. That's stiff. I was using 3,800 lb pressure plates with my big blocks.

It's all about where the Fulcrum is on the external slave setup. Guess we will see if they are spewing BS or not when I drive it.

From ATS:

Description

ATS Spec II Triple Plate Carbon Clutch is intended for extreme powers as high as 1,200 hp (at the wheel). At the same time, we made half clutch operation even easier to control than it is for the carbon single/twin clutch. There is absolutely no need to worry about poor disengagement. The carbon disk weighs 210g and inertia weight is kept at a minimum, so that gear shifting is as quick as it is with a regular clutch. This is the ultimate clutch that is much longer-lasting than metal clutches, astonishingly strong because of our non-mesh random-weaving method, and will not be damaged by repeated severe driving.

With the introduction of Spec II, ATS successfully made the pedal effort lighter than stock (w/ 1,400kg clamping force) which has enhanced your driving comfort and pleasure immensely.

Equipped with the newly designed pressure plates & middle plate(s), Spec II can provide a very comfortable driving with much less pedal effort than before or offer a significantly higher torque delivery with the same pedal effort as the previous version.

The new version also offers more choices on the clamping rate from 1,100 kg . The Prospec II (Single carbon) w/ 1,600 kg clamping rate achieves the rated horse power of 390 at the wheel with a lighter pedal effort than the previous Prospec w/ 1,000kg clamping rate. Moreover, the Spec II twin carbon clutch w/ 2,300kg clamping rate is rated at a whopping 900 hp with the same pedal effort of the previous 1,350kg model. In 2010, ATS added Prospec II (Single carbon) 2,400kg which boasts 550 hp rating (at the wheel) with lighter than stock pedal effort.

I may be wishing I still had my 300zxtt with vaccum boosted clutch when it is all said and done. LMAO
