i will check if they do a vacuum leak test here, i live in Saudi Arabia, so i am not sure if that is even possible here.

True, but when i first installed the kit i didn't have test pipe and it was at 7 psi max also. it feels like thats the maximum pressure that it can reach

As for your issue I would say get with TBatt and his no-slip setup, sounds like a slip issue
well, i dont get a vent sound from the BOV, nothing from the originial BOV that came with the kit or with QRJ. i dont get a sound at all, its like the valve is not releasing anything.

would you share the outcome of that? i am using a SI Trim with 9 psi pulley on a water setup.

Don't rule out a leak though. You can do the leak check pretty easy if you have a compressor and a good regulator. That is how I found mine.
please share a link of a belt that you recommend and i will ask the mechanic to have look at it. also, would you have by any chance a link explaining how to do leak test?

As an aside, it's sad and disturbing how many motors a setup like that has killed, considering how robust this platform really is.
you just made me google "Another One Bites The Dust" !!
whats wrong with this setup?

The #1 thing that's wrong with this setup is that the air cooler is AFTER that MAF sensors, which the ECU uses to get intake temperature and hence gets completely inaccurate data. This is very dangerous.

The #2 thing is the water cooler is just not adequate for prolonged use. Also dangerous, particularly when your ECU has no idea it has heatsoaked.

Topz is the resident expert on this and offers an Air-to-Air conversion kit which solves all the problems. ALOT safer, and ALOT more power....and pretty inexpensive to boot. No downsides. No brainer.

I am sure others will chime in with more detailed info.

That's not the maximum pressure it can reach. You were at 7psi with the restriction of the stock cats. You added the parts to run higher boost, but then removed the cats for test pipes. 7+2-2=7

Boost is not flow. Boost is pressure. Removing restrictions will lower boost, but increase flow. Did you dyno the car before/after the switch to test pipes? What you lost in boost may not lead to a 1:1 loss in power, especially with the increase in VE from the engine not straining to push air through the cats. .
TopgunZ, Jayhovah and Wilson2608 like this.
