TAKING ORDERS for winter 2017 turbo kits

The harness needs to be tucked upwards. It is very easy to do, the manual covers it well, and hardware is included.[/QUOTE] So it was fine the second time around.

So it was fine the second time around. The issue this time was a fuse.

Getting super close. Flashed base ROM today and fired it up after getting most of the engine bay back to stock and everything was spot on, super smooth.

Finished wrapping the exhaust bits, prepping Wastegates and jacket is fitted to Turbo. Ended up going with the red springs on the WGs (~6 PSI) and will fit an EBC in another week or two.

Tomorrow should find out definitively whether this kit works with an RHD. Both from Filter & Turbo discharge pipework aspects... not nervous at all...

I’d up the spring in the WG to the half bar spring if your power goal is more than 500whp. If you run the 6lb spring you are going to be limited to 12lb with the boost controller. Not sure how many pounds people are running with that comp turbo but my PT6266 is 11.5-12lbs for 510whp.

Still a stock motor. Don't feel comfortable pushing it past 10psi ever in it's current form. 6 & 10 psi is a happy medium, that was the reason behind it.

And how come I'd be limited to 12 pounds? Is there something I'm not aware of with these WGs? Cause back in the Z32 days it wasn't uncommon by any stretch for those with stock WGs (6lb) to hit 12-18 with a good EBC.

All the BCs I’m familiar with limit you to 100% of WG pressure, so you can only run twice the pressure of the spring.

Holy crap what a frustrating afternoon. Spent 3 hours fighting with the discharge pipes trying to get them to fit. Gave up and ended up going a slightly different route. Bought a 2.5" 45deg 300mm long silicone coupler that ended up taking over the mid section around the engine mount; from there I used that smaller 2.5" aluminium pipe with a dent in it to bring it to the 2.25 pipe. I used the included 2.5 to 2.25 straight reducer and it 'just' fits, though I've ordered a 2.5 to 2.25 45 deg coupler to swap it out later with. Didn't end up using the included 2.5" 90 deg aluminium pipe, which was the biggest source of my frustration, but at least the discharge pipework is done now from Turbo to IC.

I test fitted the Filter and it ended up fouling a little on the small hardlines at the base of the steering column but not the column itself. I've trimmed 10mm off the filter coupler and will give it another crack tomorrow. It's going to be a tight fit, but I believe it'll work.

That's odd. I've never heard of that, I've used HKS and GFB in the past and didn't hear that coming up. I was running 16lb on stock 6lb WG springs with my Z32 using a HKS EVC4 EBC years back.

Took a couple. Will take more next week when it's in to have exhaust fixed up to mate up to existing system.

I kinda got a little paranoid with the heat issues, so pretty much heat wrapped everything down there anywhere near the exhaust, and the exhaust itself. Gearbox loom, Wastegate vacuum/boost lines & even the coolant lines, lol.

/edit

Inb4 'you used worm clamps?' yes. The T-bolt ones are awkward as f*ck to work with and I didn't see the need. Not pushing over 20 pounds of boost. It will never see over 10psi. I did have to use some basic ones (fully perforated) in the interim, and I have some proper ones (dual band, semi-perforated) coming in soon.

Got the car back from the Exhaust shop. Haven't heard it be this quiet in 6 years when I bought the car and it had some simple very conservative 'Hi-Tech' system installed.

Exhaust currently goes from BP kit > Motordyne Centre Muffler > Cheap 2.5" eBay system (which eventually will go back to full Motordyne when the right deal comes along).

After years of having it uncomfortably loud, this is a pretty damn welcome change. Feels like a proper sleeper now. Did notice spool time suffering a little. Was able to hit 6.5 pounds by 3000 RPM before, seems I hit about 4-5 now at same RPM. Sacrifice I'll accept for now.

And for laughs, here's a short clip showing off ECUTek Launch Control while stationary. More clips will come in soon.
