For day to day running about, no it likely wouldn't. At the track it will definitely help stave off heatsoak.

I want to be clear about the additional idler pulley kit that I offer.

1. It will NOT change the ratio of the SC drive so it will not increase boost, but it will eliminate belt slip which will let you achieve the boost you are set for.

2. This additional pulley goes on the main drive serpentine belt that drives the SC jackshaft. It does not go on the SC drive belt which is the small eight rib belt that runs from the Jackshaft to the SC.

3. This design is not mine, it was originally done by Stillen (that is why the threaded hole exist in the SC mounting bracket). They apparently were using this additional idler pulley early on and then abandoned it for some reason. My speculation is that a little belt slip is extra insurance for Stillen in that the boost level is controlled by some designed in belt slip at high rpm.

4. PaulyZ came up with the part number for the idler pulley and a six rib belt that he is/was using. PaulyZ has since disappeared from the forum or at least the boost threads.

5. My part of this is designing a custom spacer that works properly with the "PaulyZ" pulley and finding an eight rib belt that could be modified to work for this application.

I hope this clears up some of the confusion of what is going on. Just remember that there are TWO drive belts involved, the main serpentine belt (seven rib) that drives everything off of the crankshaft and then the SC drive belt (eight rib).

If you decide to go to the 9lb boost setup either by using the Stillen 9lb pulley or the Vortec pulley, you will need the additional idler pulley to eliminate belt slip at high rpm.

All information has been disclosed in the forum on how to do this. What I am offering is the parts to do the mod with as little frustration as possible by eliminating the parts hunt.

Off topic but interesting.

The International Model Power Boat Association (IMPBA) is holding their International competition in Huntsville this week. Wow, these RC boats are FAST!

The most amazing record was for the 1/16 mile drag run. How does 1.3 seconds at 163MPH sound! This was done with an electric powered boat. The high nitro boats are running "only" in the 130MPH zone.

Looks like you have the extra pulley mod with the 8psi pulley. Im not sure anyone has ran it like that yet. Im surprised there was even enough room to fit the belt inbetween the two. It might smoke it.

5000 miles on mine so far and it is working great. Look at how the belt is threaded through the whole drive system. The belt bend radius is smaller at other points than at the top.

Most of us are using the stock jack shaft pulley diameter (the same as shown in the picture) even if running the 9psi setup because we use the Vortec pulley on the SC drive belt side. Stillen 9psi pulley = $200, Vortec 9psi pulley = $90.

I've got the regular 8psi pulley in the front side of the jackshaft as well. It's tight for sure. In fact have to be careful, I got just a little bit of water on the area doing some cleaning the other day and it was enough that it kicked the belt right off.

Was going to grab a 9psi pulley, just to clarify it sounds like the Vortech one goes in the SC backside of the jackshaft where the Stillen one goes on the front. Correct? I hadn't contemplated there would be a difference but stands to reason there is I suppose.

I actually had one before and wasn't going to use it so I sold it. Which of course I now regret.

Is anyone else interested in a group buy of the "Supercharger System Pulley, 9lb - Nissan 370Z 09+ Z34" ?

Stillen actually discontinued them a couple weeks ago. hence the rise in cost..

Ah that sucks.

So just to clarify, still pulley front of jackshaft and Vortech rear?
Others like 928 etc I assume are rear of the jackshaft as well?

I'm using the Vortec 2.95 pulley on the SC. You will also need to replace the SC drive belt idler with a larger pulley to take up the slack. I'll get the pulley number and post it.

Now I'm really kicking myself in the butt for selling the 2.84 which I guess was the Stillen one.

There's still a lot of room on the Stillen tensioner, that wouldn't be enough for only one size down in pulley?

With the 2.92 pulley, I ran out of adjustment before the belt was tight enough. Some modified the idler pulley mounting bracket to compensate but swapping the Idler pulley is MUCH easier. I'm still looking for the part #......
