I think the q guy also only runs a screen when he is doing dyno pulls or goes to the drag strip.

Evan, take your filter off and you will be into the 600's easily.

Yeah, he only runs the filter off on the dyno and on the strip. I'll see if seb wants to try it out when we re-run mine on the dyno.

I didn't know removing the air filter would make power like that!

TopgunZ 10-08-2016 07:12 PM

Yeah, it's a restriction. But, it's probably not worth your engine ingesting dust and debris.

I am very happy to say I am now the proud owner of a FI
370z. STILLEN SC with TopgunZ's A2A upgrade. Completed the install yesterday and will be data logging for Seb to properly tune it.
Yeah!

Anyone think about doing what Stillenz84 upgraded with throttle bodies to 65mm/70mm?

Yes I have the si impeller, 9lb pulley and 2.95" supercharger pulley. E85 def does wonders. Haha appreciate it and def all credit goes to Topz. I did have a guy with a q50 with the Stillen kit still water cooled, claim he made 12 psi with just the 9lb pulley and made 575 on the dyno. All power to him but seems like a ticking time bomb. Huge numbers for water cooled and only a 9lb pulley.

Sweet....I have the 9lb pulley already.....where can u order the 2.95" supercharger pulley? Isnit worth upgrading the Supercharger pulley without or before the impeller upgrade or would u recommend doing it together? Also is there any boost increase by going with the 2.95" supercharger pulley alone?

Just getting a chance to get on here today but went back after putting a little bigger tensioner pulley on to help prevent slip and made 556/413 on 11.4 psi! Super stoked. Still slipping a little bit so I'm going to go back to the drawing board and find another tensioner pulley I can swap out for a bigger one as the one I already switched out is as big as it can go for that area. Want higher numbers! Lol This is all still with the k&n filter on. Might take it off for this next pull to see the difference it makes.

Yeah you can gain a good 1.5 psi from switching out that supercharger pulley. You can get it directly from vortech for like $93. Part number 2A038-295. I think it's a 3.12" pulley on there stock.

That's is Crazy! Super Awesome Numbers man....

Damn! New supercharger record! Good job Evan!

Be careful taking the filter off. Bad things could and most likely would happen if you pull it off and go crazy on the dyno. She is going to BREATH!! I already did this and if i could have controlled belt slip like you are attempting i would have seen 14.5psi and over 600whp. You will definitely need to compensate fuel for this, even for just one glory pull, or you can jeopardize your motor from an extreme lean condition.

But a year ago who would have thought the stillen kit could make over 550whp!!?? :happydance:

TopgunZ 10-13-2016 12:10 PM

Evan. Have you tried spraying a little CRC on there yet?

Yeah very good point. Don't know I want to push it anymore on a stock block. Haha

And yeah I sprayed some CRC on there. Stuff is sticky and seemed to help.

I dont think its the block holding the power that is the concern. It is torque that matters and we know superchargers are not known to be tq kings like turbos are. There are guys making 500+tq on the stock block all day and it seems to be holding fine. I cant see the sc making much more than 450.

What is the concern is the amount of air you will see vs fuel you have programmed in. If you have a guy that can sit there and add fuel when you jump up in psi, basically tuning it, then it would be ok. But I wouldnt pull the filter off and say you want to do a few pulls on the dyno. Even though i would LOVE to see the power outcome, it could be really bad on the engine.

Maybe sebs could make you a theoretical map for this though.
