I think the q guy also only runs a screen when he is doing dyno pulls or goes to the drag strip.
Evan, take your filter off and you will be into the 600's easily. |

I didn't know removing the air filter would make power like that!
|
Yeah, it's a restriction. But, it's probably not worth your engine ingesting dust and debris.

I am very happy to say I am now the proud owner of a FI
370z. STILLEN SC with TopgunZ's A2A upgrade. Completed the install yesterday and will be data logging for Seb to properly tune it. Yeah! |
Anyone think about doing what Stillenz84 upgraded with throttle bodies to 65mm/70mm?

Just getting a chance to get on here today but went back after putting a little bigger tensioner pulley on to help prevent slip and made 556/413 on 11.4 psi! Super stoked. Still slipping a little bit so I'm going to go back to the drawing board and find another tensioner pulley I can swap out for a bigger one as the one I already switched out is as big as it can go for that area. Want higher numbers! Lol This is all still with the k&n filter on. Might take it off for this next pull to see the difference it makes.

Be careful taking the filter off. Bad things could and most likely would happen if you pull it off and go crazy on the dyno. She is going to BREATH!! I already did this and if i could have controlled belt slip like you are attempting i would have seen 14.5psi and over 600whp. You will definitely need to compensate fuel for this, even for just one glory pull, or you can jeopardize your motor from an extreme lean condition. But a year ago who would have thought the stillen kit could make over 550whp!!?? :happydance: |
Evan. Have you tried spraying a little CRC on there yet?

What is the concern is the amount of air you will see vs fuel you have programmed in. If you have a guy that can sit there and add fuel when you jump up in psi, basically tuning it, then it would be ok. But I wouldnt pull the filter off and say you want to do a few pulls on the dyno. Even though i would LOVE to see the power outcome, it could be really bad on the engine. Maybe sebs could make you a theoretical map for this though. |
