I haven’t, still etuning with Seb. Belt dust is likely from when I first put it on I wouldn’t be surprised if i cleaned it off i wouldnt see any more. Must be a leak somewhere. Confusing as before I had a new blower shaft put in i was peaking at 5.8psi and that was with belt/pulley walking and slipping it’s way to death.
I guess if i just put marks on the belt and pulley i would in theory know for sure if it was slipping

G3RSTY7 08-29-2018 03:05 PM

Quick question what is the ID of the blue couplers around the intercooler? 2.5”? 3”?
Played around with boost today, couldn’t find an obvious leak. Put an analog pressure gauge on the evap line and it read just above 6psi at about 6k rpms. So thinking that will be about 7psi at redline. I have the stock 8lb pulley (i believe).. and the billet top end impeller. I live at 5,500’ elevation so perhaps 7psi out of my calculated expectation of about 9psi could be within margin of error for altitude? Still want my own leak down coupler to be sure. What are your boost numbers with what pulley?

redondoaveb 08-29-2018 03:59 PM

I never ran mine with the stock 8lb pulley but with the 9lb pulley my car made a little over 10psi.Also, that was with the Si trim sc.

TopgunZ 08-29-2018 04:57 PM

The only blue coupler you should have is the one off the supercharger. The in/out of the intercooler is 2.5".

Somebody please tell me if there is another thread for this or if someone knows. I’m installing my A2A kit and just re-installed the plenum and throttle bodies. The coolant hoses for the bodies, does the short hose go between the two 90° metal tubes coming off of them? Thanks

Can you see or do you need better angle?

skinnywhitepi 09-04-2018 03:08 AM

Thank G3RSTY7 but I think I need a different angle. Are the two 90° connections connected with the small short hose between the two bodies. I have a pic of mine but don Know how to load it up

skinnywhitepi 09-04-2018 07:32 AM

Hey TopgunZ. Is it possible to send you an email with pics about some of the install of your kit? Thanks

EVOHUNTER 09-04-2018 04:41 PM

welp i can say, dont buy the low to mid range impeller.
Hits 9 psi at like 5800 rpm, then it starts sliding off. at first we thought belt slip, but not slipping at all.

only hit 427 whp and 368 ftlbs.

I think this impeller would be suited better on a mustang etc.. after about 6000 rpm, the boost starts tapering off. it feels way faster then before, but i think thats cause its boosting sooner.

milkcow500 09-04-2018 04:44 PM

Crap where'd you get this impeller from? I have a low mid range impeller from SCR that I haven't put in yet.

mines from SCR too. its really a different car then before, its more usable on the street, and the power comes on way sooner. i was just hoping for better numbers uptop but oh well!

What pulley setup you running and what do you top out on boost?

EVOHUNTER 09-04-2018 05:00 PM

stock jack, stock serp side, 2.90" charger.
9.2 psi at 5950.. dropped to 8.3 at 7500.

We thought boost leak maybe, belt slippage maybe, but nope.

I talked with the owner of SCR, and he said thats exactly how it should perform. hes seen it before, he said it would be better on a mustang with a lower red line.

Yes. I cant take a picture with couplers on but you can see how that tube goes down from the one throttle body to next

Oh crap that sounds similar what redondoaveb did. Guess i feel better about getting the high range impeller for mine

Thanks. I thought is May be correct but needed a second opinion because my paint mark came off of one. Thanks again for the help.

So after my car sits for a while, it reaks like fuel. Not sure if it’s the way the supercharger has the evap wired, the return fuel system, PCV delete with all breather filters installed... may even smell in cab while driving but most of the smell is around engine bay.
Post up which of those you have and if you experience the same. Or if you know what it could be.
I’m about to remove EVAP wire from ECU to run ethanol to pin 102, unsure if maybe I need to make sure evap solenoid is closed when i do?

SunnyDays 09-20-2018 03:47 AM

Hey all, this kit looks good. I have a question or two if anyone can assist.

1. If running 485WHP (580 at the crank)on 93 octane. Can the stock 370Z internals cope with this amount of power? Would this last as a reliable daily?

2. This kit bolts up to the existing Stillen super charger correct?

Thanks

I was running stock Stillen kit along with 2.87" serpentine side jackshaft pulley and the car puts down 440whp on a Dynojet. I have all the A2A goodies installed and am awaiting tuning. Prior to the A2A conversion I have already riden my SCed Z for almost 7000-mile DD. I enjoyed every day with it. : ) With regards to your questions:
1. Yes. I have witnessed many Zs running over 485whp in stock internals
no issues.
2. Yes but it depends on whether your mechanic is skillful in the Stillen SC kit.
Mine has few minor issues in installation but my mechanic solved them quickly.
I was barely informed of any concern from my mechanic. TopgunZ's kit is a
solid work and worthy investment (maybe because I have done lots of
homework and have everything well prepared based on the discussions
with several forum members before I decided to go this route).
3. Tuning is a dark magic and for me it plays almost most significant role in car
performance. Find a reputed tuner and get a safe and reliable tuning. Don't
try going too far then you will be fine. Please be sure to collect all the supporting mods
in addition to the kit. I am super excited about the upcoming results. :-")

G3RSTY7 09-24-2018 09:23 AM

Seems this kit is much more reliable than stock stillen kit even pushing bigger numbers. Since our Subie is out for a month+ on hail repair this is serving as a daily. I trusted it enough to drive up a 14,000’ mountain for a big car meet now wanna take it on a 1000+ mile road trip. I’m still on pump tune about to start ethanol. I have top end billet impeller car pulls so hard after 6k rpms i must not be having belt slip issues

Have you checked the hoses running to your fuel pump top hat?
I had forgotten to transfer a clip on one of mine which allowed it to leak fuel.

I verified by starting the car up with the cover behind the seats open so I could see the fuel lines.

I'd thrown away my broken top hat that had the OEM clip and ordered a 3/8" clip from Dorman, part number 800-006, to replace.

Belt slippage?

What the heck is wrong here? 928 impeller, 9lb pulley, 2.85 sc pulley, 3.47 jackshaft pulley. 91 octane. Does it look like belt slippage or ?

cupcakez 10-05-2018 08:00 PM

Wow. Scary. I hope mine isnt that low when i dyno it

You have any supporting mods or kits to eliminate the slippage or its just as u say it is?

High traction pulleys. The problem is the way the power drops off so early.

TopgunZ 10-05-2018 09:28 PM

So you were making almost 600whp but then that changed? Wierd. When did it change? Was it sudden or slowly get worse?

This is a new 91 tune. I was making 586 on e85 and 471 on 91 @13psi with just the 9 lb pulley, the 2.85 pulley and the Si wheel.

This set up is the 928 wheel, 2.85 sc pulley and 3.47 jackshaft pulley @ 14.4 psi. And I only gained 1.5 or so psi by adding the 928 wheel and the 3.47 jackshaft pulley.

More boost, loss of power. The way the power and torque drop off just doesn't look right.

redondoaveb 10-06-2018 01:10 PM

I think I might have an idea what my issue is. The V3 is rated at 52,000 rpm. With my current pulley set up, my sc is spinning at 66,000 rpm. I'm running the turbo guard screen and have an unresticted intake so I know it's not a restricted intake issue. It appears that it might be that the volumetric efficiency is dropping off (air cfm in vs air cfm out).

I'm going to call vortech on Monday and see if they can confirm my suspicions.

I want to give a big thanks to another forum member "Z"en for explaining the basics of volumetric efficiency to me.

So you ended up with my Stillen SC'r and the JR Trans sc'r brace ... I was the original owner ... Glad to see it's still going strong !!!

01206 10-12-2018 03:15 PM

after install a2a and 9 lb pulley. the car start then turn off right away. i check everything is fine. fuel pressure 50-60.
do you guys know what it could be?

wideglideleon 10-12-2018 03:43 PM

Check your wiring , mine did that and I had MAF and Throttle cables switched, easy to do at the end of a long day.

Super Vortech upgrade, 3.47 jackshaft pulley sc side, 3.00 sc pulley, Tial wastegate and Greddy Profec results on e85.
Only issue I'm having is that Seb had to do about 50 dyno pulls due some other issues and he said that my sc oil is black. Any ideas? Normal break in after rebuild? Supercharger going out, crappy rebuild? I'm going to change the oil and monitor it to see if it continues or if the sc starts making noise.

Hey you did it, congrats! So switching from 2.85 sc to 3.0 fixed it?
Speaking of noises, anyone have a heavy load sound coming from front of car/blower when reversing? Especially cold. Didnt have that sound before blower rebuilt/no slip kit installed
