And another note, anyone here successfully ran a cat or rhfc for a good amount of time ie not blowing out the catslyst comb? I just took off my FI RHFC’s for FI RTP’s so i dont blow the comb like stories ive heard from boosted cars but it turned my exhaust from perfect to absolutely atrocious and raspy and loud (for my preference). I still have oem cats and rhfc’s so i could afford to blow a pair it’d just be a shame to break those beautiful rhfc’s. I’m still on stock exhaust, want to keep car as quiet as possible. Ive heard of people welding in mufflers and resonators, anyone here done that? Also ive heard resonators dont fix volume just reduce rasp a lil

Fast Intentions cna weld 100 cell HFCs into your lead pipes.

When I went from Berk HFC's to Motordyne ART (Advanced Resonance Test) pipes I literally could not tell a difference. The way the ART pipes are designed calms the sound down much better than a straight through Helmholtz design like most RTP's. The way the design engineers over at Motordyne explained it to me was its like blowing across the top of a bottle. The vortex changes the air flow therefore disrupting the DB. I have never had a customer I recommended these to come back and say they weren't happy.

Would the MotorDyne LT-XYZ with Helmholtz Resonators be a good option or is the factory exhaust headers required to work well with the Stillen system?

The resonated straight pipe module looks similar to the ART pipes...

Good article on exhaust

The stock headers flow just fine. The LTH Would be ok as well. The xyz system makes it easy to swap in a cat if you needed that. The big issue with headers is installing them. Seems to be a bit of a nightmare.

The ART pipes are a good option, but I'm a bit of a tree hugger and don't want the smell so I run the HFCs in my lead pipes.

Boosted Z and tree hugger does not compute.

Yeah.....well, it's not my main car and doesn't get driven as much as it used to so that balances things out right?....

If there were any questions on progression....

There's a full SC kit heading in SOHOs direction. Already have some parts en route. It will be a "mild" build keeping the whp under 500 and wheel torque under 400 due to it being an auto trans. Should be great feedback for those AT guys though.
