Yeah taking the filter off obviously allows more dust and debris into the motor and shouldn't be done if you daily drive your Z, unless you like to party I guess. I for example will have a "race tune" as one map tuned with the filter off and will also have a map for daily driving where its tuned with the filter on. Just be careful trying something that the stock block might not be able to handle. I figured that out a few months back. Should get me car back next weekend and for sure shooting for huge numbers.

Yeah went for 13.5 psi and it didn't work out too well on the stock block.

Oh no
Mines making 10 I think ill leave it there can't afford a built motor.

TopgunZ 05-06-2017 08:06 PM

I thought the reason it let go is due to a mishift, overrev, boom.....?

Shouldn't the rev limiter take care of that?

I am having a problem with the Tial bov staying open at idle and air is just blowing out, Is this normal?
It doesn't seem normal to me, Is there a fix for this? Different spring?
Thanks for any help.

My trans got hung up in a gear and as I was limping it to the gas station to turn my car off and back on to fix it, it downshifted from 3rd to 1st going 40 and right when it hit redline it went boom.

Can anyone help identify this noise its either the jack shaft or the charger I think I hoping the charger doesn't need a full refurb

Sc is still spinning at idle. Air has to go somewhere.

Manifold vacuum is what opens the BOV. If the throttles are closed (or barely open) the manifold vacuum goes up and that is what pulls the BOV open. So, at idle it should be open as well as steady cruise speed.

We were all noobs at one time, except maybe TopZ.........
