517 tq on ethanol should be pretty safe. I was almost running that on 93 (497wtq). My motor did go lol, but I also drove that thing super hard. I also think mine was a fluke seeing as how not too many vq37's have gone from power. There was always some other issue at hand whether it was bad maintenance or a tune hiccup. However I don't think 517tq on ethanol will give you problems. A lot of guys are putting down mid 400's in torque all day long without issues as well on 93. The e85 guys are running some higher torque numbers too.

I was at 555ish tq on 100 octane before switching over to e85 and now I'm just under 500 on e85. I also think EcuTek was a game changer as timing can be fine tuned. I went out flog her good yesterday, felt all 600 plus ponies the force of all that torque pushing me deep into the back of my seat.
