You have a 2.70 right? Had the bracket made with the extended tensioner slot?
if so, all you need to do is put that bad boy on, this is your boost issue. Your belt is way to loose. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...psow0z0zie.jpg |

I really wish they did what Tops pointed out and listened to their customers.....I mean Stillen is a big brand name with the money, personnel, and time to do actual R&D on this set up....they could even take notes or consult with the customers that have been successful with this setup. I'm curious to see what type of upgrades they have in store....I'm hoping that it involves relocating the MAF'S post blower closer to the intake so that we can at least get accurate AIT's. |
Interesting. Right now I think I am the only one who has gotten this to work out good. So good in fact that I am searching forums for a good used V1 Ti or Si trim head unit. Those can be taken to higher RPM's, you can use COGs safely on them, and they max out at 26psi vs. the 22psi mine is rated for. I wouldn't be doing that if I felt my setup was not adequate. My intake temps are barely above ambient.
Now hearing its still going to be w2a is a bit disappointing. So I'm guessing the only redesign they will do is move those MAF's post blower. Which still kind of sucks. The MAF's will now read ultra hot temps since the intercooler will be after the mafs themselves. So the car will still not be able to understand how to advance or retard timing. Plus that tiny aftercooler sucks ballz. It would be safer to run higher boost, but power wise it is still going to be on the bottom of the barrel. Sure, someone might get on the dyno and rip a near 500whp pull, but that is a dyno queen world, not the real world. Once heat soak takes hold on the street, which will happen quickly, then that thing will lose hp like crazy. |

Any chance of your setup getting reproduced? Seems like the interest is there. |

If I did I would just model everything I have on my car in CAD then send it out to a third party to have everything made up. This would take some time but the kit would be pretty sweet. I do however have a 3 stall heated garage now so I can actually work on something out there. |
Sasha has already been working on it, were going to try 2 things.
Sebz is down end of may, so tuning will start then, hes going to try to make a dual pipe into the manifold, but were also going to build a single pipe - 4.5" where the mafs mount. This way if we run into problems with the dual setup, will have the single ready to go! |
Not real busy at work today. So I have spent most of the day looking at what it would take to have my kit replicated, with MANY improvements. I am curious as to the amount of guys on this forum that would want a kit. Right now I can only think of 5 or so. At that amount it wouldn't pay to reverse engineer it and get a shop to weld up a new, improved prototype that would be worthy of selling. I did find a great shop with an awesome rep that wants to do it. So I need to get a certain amount of interest before I would have them pull it all together. Of course I would use the first one they did.
IF INTERESTED PM ME.... "I'd take one" |

Thanks guys! The trans should be back tomorrow by the end of the day. In still concerned about the sound we thought was in the trans but I'm excited to see if the new pulley and tighter belt changes thinks.

If you went air to air would you rather: A. Turn sc volute to face opposite direction- requires Taking out 8 small screws from front of sc unit that are tough to get to, but possible. B. Cut radiator fan shroud - plastic, would require an angle grinder. C. Have oval pipe off sc to fit between engine and radiator shroud - no modification required. Very slight loss of cfm. This could be used in the "out" from intercooler also, so there is zero cutting at all. The only way to get piping in the engine bay, if round, is to cut, open up, the holes where the oem intake normally is. This is required on gen 3 stillen intakes as well. |
A- but wouldn't have a problem with any.

We are installing the trans again. I stopped and got a led flash light so I could take a good look at the belts. Unfortunately I believe both are slipping. Any suggestions on how to stop the serpentine belt from slipping?

What makes you think your serp belt is slipping? Lots of belt dust around it?
|
|
That's all dust

Your Automatic tensioner could be worn out.
Did the last shop have it off and not install it properly? Your local shop can find the tension torque specs. -Half inch torque wrench, with a 3/8 reducer. put it in the tensioner slot, see what kind of torque it takes to move that baby, should tell you if its worn out or not. Edit: from identifix Inspect indicator marks and replace belt if mark is not between reference marks on tensioner. So check for those marks on the tensioner, make sure there inbetween. |
It right at the middle of the marks.

Maybe you could open up the tensioner enough to try and spin that pulley to make sure it is spinning like it should?
|
I will try that if we ever get the trans in, this thing is a royal pain to get to line up!

update, I just checked my car.
I have the fine black dust on my serp side aswell. |
Good to know, maybe we will start with the back and see what that does. Still fighting the trans right now, it just isn't lining up.
|
Are you turning the back wheels to get the splines to match up?

The back wheels? The splines are all lined up.

I know exactly who it is. Talked to him a few days ago and he quoted me $200 for that bracket.
|
Wow, you got 60% off!

That is crazy! Haha

Hahaha! I doubt anyone would pay $500 but even $200 is expensive. Like I said, I'll be offering these as well. But way under $200.

Mine was $150 in hard steel.
