I think that is a breather hose that connects to the top of the trans. One of the very top bolts hold that chrome piece in place and the other end connect to the trans.

I think anyways.

You are correct, we just found it on alldata! Thank you!

I just went out and twisted mine. Yours seems way tighter as I could get mine around past 45*.

Yeah mine isn't quite that tight either. Just under 45 deg but I definitely don't see you slipping now on that side.

jwick 02-04-2016 09:46 PM

Tight!!!

Just like I like it:yum:

around 30,000.

TopgunZ 02-05-2016 07:47 AM

You should be good. I have some of it on my sc from only 1200 miles.

JWillis72 02-06-2016 05:40 PM

The car is back together, it will be back on the dyno Monday afternoon.

JWillis72 02-06-2016 08:13 PM

I kind of feel excised but if this doesn't work it will be my worst fear. I'm truly out of ideas, I need this to come to an end!!!

The shop lied to me when they said the car was back together. The trans was in but not filled and the axle was still out when I got there today so no dyno today.

JWillis72 02-08-2016 08:04 PM

I lost my mind, I'm sick of excuses. I may have to find a new shop this week, I can't take much more of this.

Unfortunately good shops are hard to come by

JWillis72 02-08-2016 08:26 PM

Amen, I find it sad that I seem do able to figure out more than the people that claim to be pros.

Having a professional do it just means you paid for it. I do a better job than a 'professional' most times.

Stillen Air to Air setup

He tried to tell me we needed to order a automatic transmission filler to delay this once again, I built him one this morning and I'm headed to drop it off. If I don't come back for a couple days he gave me more excuses and I need bail!

Jwillis... I was watching Predator last night and when they pulled the gatlin gun out with all the other machine guns and completely mow down that forest......it reminded me of you when you said you were going to shoot it.

This the first AT they e ever worked on?

Nice job btw

JWillis72 02-09-2016 09:26 AM

I seriously have dreamed about shooting the car, I guess I've said that to many times! It could still happen but no need for bail yet. He seems to have a better attitude with me after me freaking out on him yesterday but that doesn't mean anything with this guy so we will see how today goes.

My favorite part is when the really black dude runs off chasing the predator.

No there are 3 GRT there right now with the trans out, he said they didn't need one to fill them.

JWillis72 02-09-2016 05:29 PM

I went and filled the trans with him so he couldn't blow it off but once again it's holding a quart less than Level 10 said it should so no dyno tonight. I emailed Level 10 to see what they say before we continue.

How much did they tell you it is suppose to hold? Do you have the trans cooler?

JWillis72 02-09-2016 06:06 PM

They told me to add 10 quarts and that it should self level around 9.7 when up to temp.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

JWillis72 02-09-2016 06:07 PM

It's only holding 8.5.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

StillenZ84 02-09-2016 07:10 PM

Ok yeah dude mine only held between 8-9 also. I think 10 is impossible.

JWillis72 02-09-2016 07:23 PM

Thank you man, he has told me 9.7 this whole time and we have tried 7 or 8 times and it only ever holds 8.5. Pats a super nice guy but clearly he must be thinking of a different trans.

Is the car running when you add the remainder of the oil?

I only ask because as part of the oil change on the trans you have to add the required amount (quickly replacing the screw) start the car then remove the screw, excess will drain but if nothing comes out then you can add more at this stage, while the engine is running, until it starts to drain. It should be at the right level then. Replace the sump screw and your away.

We had a copper tube on the pump with a small piece of the clear hose about 1" from the tip that worked as a plug so we could fill it with the car off. We then ran the car until the pan was 100 degrees and pulled the plug with the car running. The first time we filled it Pat didn't tell me to do it running and it was trying to dump all the fluid.

StillenZ84 02-10-2016 07:19 AM

Yeah the Nissan dealership is who installed my Level 10 trans.

EVOHUNTER 02-10-2016 07:57 AM

Maybe this will help?

Install a new O-ring to the charge pipe tool NO. 310811EA5A or equivalent. Connect a scan tool to the DLC and monitor transmission fluid temperature. Start the engine and warm the transmission to approximately 104°F (40°C) NOTE: temperature greatly affects fluid level. Ensure temperature remains constant during checking procedure. With vehicle on a level surface shift the transmission through each gear, then return to the P position. Raise the vehicle and remove the overflow checking plug from the pan. Install charge pipe tool NO. 310811EA5A or equivalent. HAND TIGHTEN only. Connect a suitable fluid pump to the charge pipe and add 0.5 liters of the correct fluid to the transmission. Remove the charge pipe. If no fluid flows from the overflow hole Continue adding fluid. Allow fluid to drain until it drips. Install and tighten overflow plug.

this is now much Nissan says it should take.

Liters 9.2 Quarts 9.7

If you don't shift through the gears it wont take all the fluid!

StillenZ84 02-10-2016 08:46 AM

Well let me know Jason if you are able to get 9.7 quarts in. I figured the dealership would know how much to put in. If that is what they call for then Im guessing it has to fit somehow. Im going to call my buddy at Nissan today to see why they only put 8.5 in mine.

Im not sure what the level ten in tales,

But maybe theres less room for fluid now???

JWillis72 02-10-2016 12:01 PM

Level ten left out the shifting it part in his instructions to me! S**t, I just drove it and it seemed fine. We were going to dyno it at three but I guess it back to the lift and there is a car on it.

Yeah I have been driving mine for 5+ months and it has seemed fine.
