You guys need to be careful... if you want to buy aero parts you really need to be buying stuff that's been designed/tested with the appropriate computer models and proven in wind tunnels. It's very easy to design some aero bit that should work in theory, but might end up just screwing everything up. And as you know, any aero piece that's been through that kind of design and testing process is going to be big money.

I'd be interested to see if those kind of diffusers offer any real benefit on cars that don't have a fully sculpted under tray.

well seems like this is for those of us who dont want the extra downforce etc... I do not expect this piece to be anything but for looks...

I completely agree with you sir. The thing is though that the diffuser is the one thing that wont create lift and helps tidy up the air flow out the rear of the car. Faster flow there = lower pressure = downforce + Stability. Rear wing and front wing are different stories. You also have to differentiate between spoilers, splitters, diffusers and wings. I would buy a splitter, diffuser and a spoiler from a normal vendor, but not a rear or a front wing. Uneven, untested downforce = ftl

a lot of local nasa racers in az i run with have been doing homemade diffusers without any real analysis and getting great results... i'm sure you are correct regarding optimizing the design but I'd guess that replicating a proven diffuser design and slapping it up on this car is going to be better than naught

Yup, a lot of folks with DYI racecars round here do the same. Smooth upward sloping and straight fins. The other DIY is a front splitter...all you gotta do is make sure its flat and well supported and it will help direct air more smoothly under the front end again creating stable faster flowing zones underneath that help with front end stability. The coup de gras being a fully flat pannel under the middle section of the car connecting the rear diffuser and the front splitter. BANG, tons of downforce and no giant wings ala the F430 and 458 Italia.

sure would be nice to get the aero we need on this car for high speed track work without having to resort to a big *** rear wing... but I suspect it will be necessary unless as you say we can design a functional full undertray + functional diffuser

I think Top secret carbon rear diffuser might be able direct fit on 370Z.

Yeah, offer one with the no-fog light, I'm still on the fence on weather or not I want to get that thing working, or just cover it up.
