Is anyone having problems with their 370z dashboard becoming sticky like it is melting? I use a sun shade and it seems to be getting worse. Anything I can do

I had the same problem on my IS300. It was nasty. It stained your pants if your knee rubbed against it. Ended up taking it out, sanding it down and painting it. Never heard of a Z with that problem though.

This is the first I've heard of a 370Z dash melting/disintegrating. My first guess is that someone used the wrong kind of chemical when cleaning.

Like Andrew statd, this problem was common with the infiniti FX. After many people complained, Infiniti finally issued recall letters to notify FX owners that they will replace a new dashboard under warranty. My boss had this occurred on his FX50 where the dashboard bubbled up in different areas and feels sticky, basically the dash material had melted under high heat. He had it replaced by infiniti earlier this year, but they kept his car for a week.

You're the first to have it happen with the Z so there maybe a slim chance Nissan will cover it, unless more people start having the same issue and prompted them to do a recall. Can you post up some pics of your dash?

This was my first thought as well. Sounds like the cleaner/rejuvenator is leeching out in the heat (sort of like sweating). Don't know what to do in a case like this. If it is caused by a misused product, I'm not too confident that Nissan will do anything about it. It is worth letting the dealer look at it however. Good Luck with this.
