I think this is the most appropreite location for this question. I just noticed that when I put something or someone sits in the passenger seat the light indicates passenger

I think this is the most appropreite location for this question. I just noticed that when I put something or someone sits in the passenger seat the light indicates passenger airbag off. But when there is nothing in the passenger seat the light turns off, indicating that the passenger airbag is active. What could be the cause of this?
