I believe there has been a recall on this becasue of the passenger seat crushing or splitting a wire that detects a passenger. I would check with the dealership about this.

Could also be a bad airbag. I hadto have one of mine replaced.

Having this same problem. What's the warranty on this? Is there something that could void the warranty?
Thanks!

Bad weight sensor, same thing on mine. Fix it or ignore it, it is only really a problem if you carry little people on a basis.

If you set items under 10 pounds on the passenger seat, it eventually tricks the sensor. You can have the dealership reset the sensor or replace it if deemed damaged. The work is covered under warranty and takes no more than 30mn.

Dude, i'm not understanding something here though. These car companies have been doing this airbag stuff for a while. I had all kinds of stuff under 10 lbs in my Evo X and I NEVER had that issue. Nissan is a better car maker IMO and they must be able to do a better job than this. OP, see my thread on going to the dealership.

It is not as common as some would think. After all, the issue is with a sensor and it can act up (trust me this is NOTHING compared to Mercedes where everything is linked up to a sensor and you are always $1500 short if any sensor breaks).

A quick reset takes care of it; I usually leave my laptop, heavy books on the floor mat rather than on the seat itself to avoid fooling with the airbag sensor.
