Disconnect battery for seat removal?

I know it's probably a stupid question but do I need to disconnect the battery in order to remove the seats? Just want to make sure the airbag doesn't go

Default Disconnect battery for seat removal?

I know it's probably a stupid question but do I need to disconnect the battery in order to remove the seats? Just want to make sure the airbag doesn't go off in my face.

For the 2 minutes it takes to disconnect the battery, I would.

Yes.
Since it is so readily available on this site, check out the FSM warnings and special procedures for working with/around air bags. It could save you a lot of money. And you might poke your eye out.

Edit: If the 2011 FSM is not avail, the procedures will be the same in the 2009-2010 versions.

Glad you posted this, I yanked out my passenger seat with it hooked up, and was going to do the same for my drivers side as soon as I get my Sparcos back. OOPS!!!

Not a dumb question at all, for safety it would be best but I believe you could also just unplug the seat harness and it should remove the power source?

Correct me if I'm wrong here...

You're not really wrong, but ...
You can probably unplug the air bag connector without out setting off the bag. But there is a slight risk of doing damage to the rest of the system. Granted, it is a very low possibility, but the affected system can get very expensive to repair. From what I have read, there is a chance that you will set off the bag when the connector is plugged back in*. Maybe not a big chance, but, once again, an expensive outcome if it does happen.

*Edit: when the car is powered

Also when u remove the seat without the battery being disconnected then the airbag light will come on. It can be reset manually but it's quicker to disconnect battery

OK my driver seat was removed from the 370Z when I had interior/exterior lights installed. Now my airbag dash light is flashing intermittently. Can I reset this manually or do I need to go to a dealer to have it done?
Thanks for any advice.
