Pics of my new hood. What do do?

i would get CF fang, paint the wheels gunmetal or graphite and get some spacers installed minimum.

Agreed. I think it just looks out of place right now because the rest of the car is pretty much stock. If you think painting it would look better, I would just put the stock hood back. It will probably be lighter too.

I would go with painting the hood and leaving the scoops carbon like some other people said. But it's your car, do what feels right to you.

It's rice ... Paint the hood to match the car and black out the headlights ...

I just have a few questions. Which hood is that, how much did it cost, where'd you get it from and can you order it painted the same color as your car? But leaving the scoops black, preferably a matte black.

If you were going to paint it... Stock is lighter and fits better and would probably cost less to add in GTR vents. So there was no point in having ever bought the CF one!

I think you should leave it and get a CF front lip and some wheels and lower the car, then it will start to come together.

Personally I dislike painting a CF hood. Even with acceptable fit, they never fit 100% like stock. And they are also wavy and you see it a lot more once painted. So when you try to make them look like they are stock and paint them, it just makes it look like the car came with poor fitting and wavy body panels.

That's my opinion on it at least. Accent it with more CF or go back to stock and put GTR vents in the stock hood which is lighter and fits better.

I disliked my CF hood on my 370z until I added more.

In my opinion the shine of the hood doesn't match the rest of the car, so in order to get a stylish design I would only clear coat it in a matt/semi gloss finish.

My one is a 3M wrap and looks gorgeous because of the structure of the material.

I would not paint the CF hood in the colour of the car - not because of some mismatch in colours, more because of the CF waffle structure. I have a complete CF fairing on my motorcycle so the only way to get a flat surface is lots of paint layers or even plenty of filler...

So buy some more parts and match the gloss to each other

Doesn't look ricey at all. I wouldnt dare paint that beautiful piece of artwork. Cf fang cover, cf mirror covers, cf bpillars, cf diffuser, dark gunmetal/black wheels, done.

You could always send it to me and I will deal with the embarassment of driving around with the rice look on my car.

Everyone in this thread has good suggestions, on both sides of the argument. I was originally thinking painting it and leaving the vents CF, but I think the others are right about accents. My car only looks ricey because the hood is the only CF part at the moment, and it looks off balance.

I'm going to head over to the photoshop thread and see what a few different ideas look like. Painting it is still on the table, but I should probably get some more blueprints before I commit to it.

Thanks Everyone!

Regardless of what you do, you should get it clear coated to ensure it does not fade.
