You need to do a LOT of coats of the leading edge of the handle where you put most of the pressure By a lot I mean 5+ if you DD your car and want it to stay looking good for more than a month |
Quote:
If you DD your car, you will want to spray in inside of the handle where your fingers go a little heavier then the others. Plus you cant see inside when the handles closed. The more the merrier inside... |
Yeah I agree with the door handle thing, LOL not gonna hold up, I was gonna plasti dip the emblems but buying the pre painted ones are def better!! :happydance:
|
I tried the door handles and took them off soon after. It wasn't that they wouldn't last, I just hated the feel of plasti dip every time I opened my door. I like the smooth feel of the OEM door handle a lot more.

Thinking about doing a bright color with gloss coat over it for the side mirror covers. anyone have experience with removing gloss clear coat plasti dip?

If you use the plastidip glossifier it's not hard at all. If you use a regular gloss, it hardens the plasti dip and makes it a lot harder to take off. Though you could probably still get it off easier with goo gone than trying to peel it off (which is what I did).

Plastidip red handles and Z emblems
I decided to try out plastidip, which I think looks kinda cool, but im probably getting rid of it because of that rubbery feel.
I also added the font and rear Z emblems http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/...psb56af6f9.jpg http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/...ps41b9021c.jpg http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/...ps975f7498.jpg |
figured id post this here too...
plastidip'd my ark grip. hate it or love it :ughdance:...but i love it. blends in with the black diffuser and makes it look much stealthier. especially since the exhaust is freaking loud. http://imageshack.us/a/img717/8378/plastidipark.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img822/2416/plastidipark2.jpg |

That is pretty sweet actually. I want this exhaust. "Freaking Loud"... what do you have paired with it? By itself it shouldnt be that loud. I have a muffler delete and i don't even think that its "freaking loud".. |

AFTER:http://www.dipyourcar.com/forums/att...3&d=1360533521 I know it's not a Z but I did a full dip of my beater truck for fun. The gallons of sprayable dip are so easy to use. I have ZERO car painting experience and this came out awesome! |

Hi all,
Just got a 370z and want to plasti dip the fangs but also looking to add a 3m clear bra on the front bumper. I am wondering which one goes on first? My guess is plasti dip first but the tint shop says I need to wait at least 4weeks for the plasti dip to fully dry. It seems important to wrap the bumper ASAP if I want to protect paint. Suggestions? |
I would clear bra first that way if you want someday to get rid of fangs you can just peel it off.
|

Then once the clear dry has settled and dried completely to the car (1-2Days in the sun) Then you can spray plasti-dip over the top Tint shop doesnt know what they are talking about. Plasti-dip fully dries in about 20 minutes in the sun. |

Second that :iagree:

Thanks for the advice + confirmation!
