Question how do you guys stop the dip from sticking to the paint tape. When I pulled the tape some bits of the dip came with it. I figure Ill just redo the little area but I wanna make sure it won't happen again.

As promised, here are the pics of my plastidipped emblems. I will probably have to redo the 370Z badge because I started peeling it off before it was completely dried so it didn't come off so cleanly.

Get edge lock tape from 3m and make sure all the tape lays perfectly flat on the surface and remove the tape after your done spraying. It worked great for me perfect lines now.

2 of my wheels started peeling around where the lug nuts are. I guess I didn't spray enough in that area :(

Blades I think you should retire from plastidipping lol

I think I've found the best use for plasti dip yet. Here's an April Fools prank I played on my cousin and his BMW 650i. A little NSFW so I'll put it in a spoiler (just has the "F" word)

His lame attempt to get revenge was to try and seran wrap my car, but my car was too low for him to get underneath it. Took only like 20 seconds to pull it off my car. |
Going to give plasti dip another shot. Gonna try to spot fix where the wheels are peeling by spraying really close/using a paint brush. Doesn't really have to look perfect since it's in an area no one would really look or notice much (the area surrounding the lug nuts). Also going to redo the "370Z" badge and be more patient this time. Going to do this in the back of my apartment complex's parking lot so I don't have to worry about using someone else's garage/driveway so I don't have to try and rush it.

Just my 2¢, but I wouldn't use a toothbrush. That just doesn't sound pretty at all. Patience is the key. For your lug nut holes just do 5 or 6 slower, heavier passes and let it dry in between coats, like 15-20 minutes each coat. For your burgers, make sure you get the underside of the top arch, that's the spot I had to go back and do because I did it at night and didn't see that I kinda missed that spot.

Looks great!
I didn't like the feel of the door handles with plasti dip on them, so I think I will just leave them as they are. |

It does feel sorta weird. But I didn't do the inside so it doesn't bother me that much. It completes the look I was going for, for much less $$ than I originally planned. I'll keep it this way for a while and maybe change it up later and do a gloss black reg paint job on the handles and gloss black powder coat the wheels.

...you guys amaze me.
how about a set of these to match? http://contentinfo.autozone.com/znet...89649/image/4/ |
