The concern is that if you don't end up liking the new knob, you can't go back if you ruin the old one. At least that was my concern.

Same here I agree, and I'm not posting because I care about the money, I am posting because why ruin something when I don't have to? If I can keep the stock in tact then that is 120$ more in my pocket that I saved.

So tonight I was trying to get it off for the 4th time. It was either come off or get broken trying. I was successful.. Lets say we had our go at each other lol.

So this might sound ratarded...But since that is locktite, has anyone tried heating it up for a few mins. then using a strap wrench?

I have a question for those of you who have install an aftermarket knob.

Did you guys re-apply Loctite or just screwed the new knob as is?

if the pattern lines up i dont use loctite. if it doesnt then i usually put a dab and let it dry unless i can shim it or use a jam nut or something.
