My guess with these is they let a little air in, don't really hurt drag numbers, and otherwise serve a primary function of looking cool.
Yes, naca ducts work in a very passive way which is good. The firewall is not far from those ducts, though. Simota, get thee to a wind tunnel immediately.

Well, obviously a wall of fire is going to be pretty hot, so these should help cool it off a bit.

I may put these on my hood. When I think about it, the ducts can cool the G3's on a hot day, thereby reducing intake air temps and producing more power. Simota, you are a genius!
