Default Rear hatch lift springs

I picked up a pair of these heavy duty rear hatch lift springs from a company in France. For those that are going to say "just put a couple of pennies in the stock springs" I started off with 2 nickles to make it work. Then 3, and now 4. Mine are beyond modifying. I could have ordered a new pair of oem one's but these are the same price as what Z1 had the oem priced at ($55.00 plus shipping). The are very well made and stiff. I haven't installed them yet because my cars in the shop for upgrades but I'll probably go down there tomorrow and quicky throw them on and see how well they work.

I installed the same ones last week. Let me know how they perform for you. For me, 3 out of 5 times the boot still doesn't open so it didnt fix the problem. I do have a 2012 Nismo spoiler.

Have you removed the rear hatch weight? I removed mine and added in a few pennies to each OEM spring and it opens with no issues at all.

I put some black nylon washers where the springs meet the body 4 years ago and still have no issues

Ive contacted open top. They responded immediately by requesting pictures of installation and a video, re-assuring that we would find a solution.

Next day, they sent me two new items. I hope that fixes it, should arrive next week. Big compliment to how they handled the situation!

I had my car for a few days before it went to the dyno, and they days I had it, mine worked flawlessly. Fingers crossed. Glad they were so responsive and are working with you. Sounds like they have a lot of confidence in their product.

I just attached clear adhesive stops to the point whee the springs contact the body of the car. Been working great for years without having to replace the springs. I have the Nismo wing too.
