Black Box Under The Steering Wheel

I'm guessing that is a device the dealer installed to send all driving data back to their headquarters for analysis and storage in case the owner ever files a warranty claim

Black boxes like the ones in airplanes have become common now.

some rental car guys have these on some cars and they can tell if u went out of state(which is a no/no on some rentals)
