Well not to long ago I was looking at the same thing. I found that a good single color wrap would cost about 1/2 the cost of a good single color paint job. Paint will last a very long time, a wrap over 5 years I'm told with be very difficult to remove, it would still look good if taken care of and not left in the sun often, UV rays are bad for paint but very bad for vinyl. Vinyl is a type of plastic and UV breaks down plastic polymers.
So here's my wrap. ![]() In 5 years if I'm board of it I can remove it and get another or go back to the original black. And be at the same or under the cost of paint. With paint I would be out a lot more money today and would be stuck with it for the life of the car. Also every dipped car I have seen has never looked as good as a wrap or paint job. I'm sure it could be done well, I just haven't seen it yet. |
