Clutch master cylinder

Which brand to buy? Centric, Dorman, Aisin, or does Nissan make 1. They seem to run about $150 online or where does everyone buy it (Z1)? I already have bought the aftermarket slave cylinder$$. Still need to buy the clutch plate$$. Trying to buy it slowly to reduce the pain when it goes out.

I don't think an aftermarket CMC exists for the 370Z ... so your only choice is Nissan. Joe at Z Speed evidently was working on a heavy-duty version of the CMC (with improved seals), but I think that it's still in the test phase. Best to check with Joe directly to determine its status.

I know GTM has one (it's what I have) but I don't know if its available to actually purchase. It F'n rules tho everyone running a factory master cylinder is missing out.

Im in the same boat, this is all new to me, I havent had any issues, but I wanna adress the problem before it actually happens.

Thanks, I saw that 1 listed on Zspeed. How was the install and what else did you change out while you were in there.

Install is a bitch. At least that's what the shop told me. Clutch was the only portion of the turbo install I farmed out.

Clutch does suck but it isn't impossible to due in a driveway, I did my clutch and flywheel 3 times on my back with the car on stands. I can do it in a day now if i don't run into any problems. If you have a lift and a trans jack it only takes a few hours.

Edit: the master cylinder kinda sucks you have to move the abs module to get at the bolts.

It's the master i was referring to. I farmed out that entire job

I have OEM one that's been mod'ed by Joe I am using with no issues so far.

I really want to see his aftermarket replacement CMC.

CMC isn't fun, but it only took me about an hour. And I did it without having to move the ABS module. A good 45 minutes was removing/installing the CMC and bracket bolts in the firewall.

I also did the transmission drop in my driveway with the help of a friend and a $120 transmission jack from Harbor Freight. It took us two full days to do the Z1 CSCEK, but I expect the second time would be smoother and we could swap out the clutch in a day. I would want to do it 1-2 more times before being comfortable doing it myself.

He's mentioned the ZSpeed CMC for months if not years. But no details or ETA. I am looking forward to it as well. I hope it comes out before my new CMC fails

Can you tell us what he did to yours? I was considering buy the rebuild kit (it's like $18) for my original one I removed. I would consider sending it to Joe to rebuild and mod if there's a good reason.

It's not just modded, there are better parts in it

There is really no way of making a aftermarket CMC for this car without going into very high cost, Trust me we've pretty much exhausted every way of making something else fit like factory and be anywhere near affordable.

We have 5 of your type in testing, a few minor changes have actually been made since, and are just waiting them out to make sure they are going to hold up. It's looking promising

We just don't want to release something that may have issues down the road so thorough testing must be done.

How many miles on yours so far? I know you've had it for quite some time now.

The CMC is easy peasy to replace, I just wish there was a better replacement part.
