Help me! Engine oil problem!!

My baby has been running on QuakerState Horsepower synthetic oil(5W30) so far, i paid $105 canadian dollar for 5 liters(60) of oil + oil filter(15) + labour(30) cost at autoshop.
Unfortunetly, i think this oil gets very hot(even while i'm driving like a grandma, oil temp guage hits 250F easily.) much too quickly than the stock oil from Nissan.
The temp at my area is nearly 90F everyday. Also, if i drive like an ***, oil temp gets even hotter than 250, then i can see somekind of black power on the dipstick.
Is this mean oil got burned?
I thought every single synthetic oil has better resistance on heat than the stock ester oil... Should i drain my engine oil and change to another one?
Does anyone have an experience of using Quakerstate synthetic oil on your car? Do you have any recommendation on engine oil?

Top of this forum has a Sticky thread for engine oil temperatures. That should answer most of your questions. As for your dipstick finding and the quakerstate, perhaps someone else has an idea. The quakerstate is definitely not one of the oils most people have been discussing on this site, but if it meets the manual guidelines for oil specs it should theoretically be fine.

According to comments on sticky thread for engine oil temperatures, it seems nissan ester oil is better on high oil temp than most synthetic oils in aftermarket. Is it ture?

I haven't noticed a significant change in temps with the sythetic, im using mobil 1 though.

Quakerstate is one of the worst brands of oil out today. If you want one of the best bought oils on the shelf, get Penzoil Platinum. So far on all the tests from the labs, it has done much better than all of the competitors other than Amsoil. Mobil 1 is way down on the list now since they reformulated their oil.

If you want sound advice, I suggest go to www.bobistheoilguy.com and discuss the oils there.

An affordable one is Castrol Syntec.

What's with the urban legend that new cars don't need sythetic oil.
Only when it gets old. It's a good idea.

I thought higher mileage cars would benefit from it mostly and newer ones don't as much. So not worth the extra money. Once you synthetic, you can't go back to regular.

If you are seeing black residue in the oil after a short time then yes, the oil is braking down. All synthetics are not created equal, some are only 10% synthetic yet still call themselves synthetic.

I would stick to the oils that people have tested successfully for now.

hmmmm... i think i need to drain this retarded priceless garbage oil and get
Pennzoil(good price, Quaker was more expensive than this) or AMSoil(too expensive though...) thx for advice NISMOZ.
Should i stick to 5W-30? or is it okay if im using other than 5W-30?(ex,5-40 or 0w-50 etc)
Do i need to change oil filter? I've only used new oil and filter for 800miles. My oil is already breaking down? F***
I want my money back!!

I would recommend you use Nissan's recommended ester oil (which is a Penzoil Platinum product). I suspect you'll find your engine oil will run a bit cooler and your engine a bit quieter.

It's my understanding that Nissan has a service bulletin out on this and is recommending this oil for all Nissan and Infiniti vehicles that use the 3.7L V6 engine.

There are some good technical write-ups regarding why this oil is better for the engine so as I'm not an engineer and as the info is already available elsewhere I won't go into it here.

Back in the 90's my parents had an RX-7 and the factory recommended QS. The techs said that it was thinner than the other oils on the market and was better suited to the rotary... Maybe that is the problem in a high compression engine, too thin. Interesting?

$20 bucks at Walmart for 5 quart jug of Penzoil Plat. Good stuff. I would recommend doing the filter anyways since you might have a sludge issue and it's already in the filter. I would only use the weighs Nissan recommends for your engine. 5w30 is good.

There are several different varieties of Penzoil Platinum so I sort of question if the $20 jug would be the right type.

The right variety (that includes the ester oil) needs to be used to get the benefit.
