We always think of traction control as being something that cuts power when your wheels are spinning, but you can cause instability just as easily by engaging the clutch with the engine too low, because it can make the rear wheels lock up or slow. The Corvette has a seperate feature name for the part of the traction control system that will react to the rears locking up from too little engine power too, and I know from experience the VDC will react to this problem too. Perhaps that's what you're dealing with? I could imagine the engine might be more prone to make that happen at lower RPMs when there's not as much momentum going on... Just a thought.
i think this is the issue i sometimes have.

although i can demonstrate the problem 90% of the time
by turning left or right from a stop light with gentle gas between the 1 to 2 shift.
I put this one down to the way a diff works when turning a corner - one wheel will always spin slightly slower.
