ordered one myself this morning along with the Z1 transmission mount (already have the motor mounts), need to keep all this torque in check!

Exactly... can't let the torque leak out haha. Any of you guys tightened the axles as well? Mine has bad clunking on the rear driver side, but I plan to get it done when it is time to order new tires.

BTW... any tools required to extract the old mount? Is there much disassembly involved? One of these days I'd like to get it all done at once.

I removed the diff and subframe mounts on my 240 and the process is the same; kill it with fire and then chisel or cut the sleeve. it's not easy with the subframe in.

Someone created an extraction tool. It looks almost like a hollow cylinder with a long screw and metal washers. I think it is used to squeeze it out. I don't know if we have room to extract it without having to take a bunch of stuff apart.

yep I saw that but I believe its for the 350 and its slightly different size so I don't think that will work.

Basically the subframe should be removed to have clearance to remove the rear diff bushing. There isn't enough clearance between the frame, rear differential and body to get a proper tool to remove the bushing. Fire and heat may work to remove the bushing but then it's the problem of getting one back in.

Whiteline bushing is a plastic type bushing with a compression fitting.



That is for a 350Z and the 370Z bushing is slightly smaller, so a little grinding may be required for it to fit. The front bushings are a direct fit.

The kit I liked for the front is this:



They haven't developed a rear bushing for the 370Z yet (or since the last time I checked) and the one for the 350Z didn't impress me. I left the OEM bushing in place and just replaced the front bushings on the differential. The rear bushing is still in good shape and some stiffing is better than none. The front diff bushings are really soft and seem to have a lot of movement.

We shall see how this setup works when the car is back on the road, this spring.

The ulimate solid, increased VHM bushing for the rear differential are SPL solid metal bushings with no movement. I just wasn't ready for that level yet.

I had the diff bushings installed, they took a small amount of material off the larger rear bushing for it to fit. With the new diff bushings and the Z1 motor and transmissions mounts the shifting in this car is infinitely better. Theres virtually no wheel hop, and driveline slop is completely gone. 1st to 2nd shifts are the most improved, but overall shifts are much more precise. The only downside is that theres a bit of vibration felt in the cabin now, nothing rattles (yet) but its enough vibration that it would bother some people.

Not sure if the ES set would work, but i know it's harder and not as 'fancy' as the whiteline bushing.

get the whiteline, its hard enough to install that rear bushings without worrying about trying to save the stock sleeve to use with the ES
