Differential bushing
 

Well, my diff bushing has given up on me.. wondering if anyone has changed theirs and to what? I'm debating whether to take it in to the dealer under warranty or upgrading to a better one.

Go oem. Everything else will have more nvh, or break. Went through that with my g20 pos and finally I just take it to the dealer for parts always and labor when special tools are needed and I can't do it myself. It's just better that way I have found, if more expensive.

How many miles do you have on your g37??

Hm, couldn't find anything else, guess oem is the only way, just wish it wasn't so weak

You should be able to get it under warranty, then later when something better comes out you can look into it.

is your G a daily driver? if it is, then i would have to say just get it covered under warranty. it seems like fairly common problem if you tend to drive your Z/G hard.

i had mine replaced under warranty. they replace the entire sub frame. id hate to know the price out of warranty!!

p.s. i dont drive my car very hard and mine busted.....

Yea it is, I called up the dealer, its going in tomorrow. I guess the cars aren't ment to be driven hard??

Yup, same problem here. I hate how you can't just replace the bushing!

im hoping this is just a fluke in the production line and not an issue with using slightly stiffer suspension. i have tein springs that are a tad tighter. if so then im sure many others will have this problem too. our roads here suck and i might have just hit one too many BAD bumps and it broke. im hesitant to think the dealer would fix this twice..... :\

I don't think the Tein springs would have much effect on the bushing. IMO, high HP levels, hard launches and shifts would hurt the bushing far more than anything else. I've had a few friends with 350Z's break theirs and a few friends down here in FL do the same with their 370Z's. It seems to be common with both cars.

I contacted SPL about this. With some work/swearing the 350Z SPL bushings can be adapted to the 370Z/G37. They also mentioned that they will be releasing a set that fits the 370Z/G37 soon.

With that said, the SPL bushings are LOUD. Especially if you have a set of 4.08 gears, and/or a Nismo LSD. The 4.08 gears might whine a bit more than the stock gears, and this is magnified by the solid bushings. The Nismo LSD is a bit harsh to begin with, makes lots of noise when making slow tight turns (read: parking lot). This is also magnified by the solid diff bushings.

I would NOT recommend these for a daily driven car. But constantly breaking a stock bushing would also be irritating. Maybe some day someone can source/manufacture a solid rubber bushing.

So warranty decided not to cover it since i have aftermarket toe bolts. Somehow they wrote that the toe bolts may have caused this and that the subframe which needs to be changed for the bushing also includes the toe bolt area, which connects to the bottom spring tray. These mechanics are just something else..
