Clutch pedal too soft/no feel? Remove the helper spring!

That is good advice. There really isn't any space down there to do a whole lot. If you **** it up bad enough you might even have to take the whole freakin clutch pedal assembly out.

Just did some "spirted" driving and wow. You guys where not kidding. I can catch gears so much harder with more precision. And when just drving normal it dont look like I just started drving a stick yesterday. Thanks for busting you a** and doing the install Nick, my girl did not want to cooperate LOL

just installed mine. actually took longer than i thought. after i removed the C clips, the entire assembly just fell apart so it took me a while to figure out how it went back in (wasnt paying much attention)

anywho, car is washed, quick detailed and new clutch spring installed. cant wait to drive it tomorrow. thanks again for doing this man!

Just had a nightmare installing the assembly back in. I was trying to put the C clip back on the top pin when it shot out of my pliers and got lost. I tried removing the plastic panel cover the fuse box area and still couldn't find it. I think it went into the hollow area where the wiring molex is. Had to use a snap ring instead since I didn't have any C clips, but it'll will hold fine.

One thing that helped me on the bottom pin, since mine was very very hard to push back in, was to get a large channel lock plier and use the clutch pedal assembly as leverage. Very easy to squeeze in at that point.

I don't know how some of you guys work down there so easily, that is the most uncomfortable spot ever.

Being 6-3 it's impossible for me to not hurt myself while working On it. My bottom pin does not want to go back in for anything. I had nick come too And we were unsuccessful. I'm going to take a Dremel to the pedal opening to let me get it in. Right now the seemly is installed with no pin and it it clicks when the pedal comes up and Its rather annoying.

Boost when you said you used the clutch pedal as leverage what do you mean?

I'll show you what he meant, I can get it back in for you. Had to do the same on red's, his pin was a bitch.

I had to sand the entire pin down a little, and then put some lube on it. It slid right in afterwards.

My pin ended up being a pain in the ***. The top is fine. The bottom is a nightmare. Couldn't get it in all the way before it got dark so now it's halfassed shoved in there. Plan on using some channel locks to fix tomorrow.

bottom pin wasnt that hard to get in for me. i just used my strength to compress the spring, while pushing the assembly up and sliding the pin right in!

btw. drove it today. the clutch is so much nicer now. my 1-2 shift is golden and you actually know exactly where the clutch grab point is. muuuuch smoother driving, and way better feel. love this mod!

If you look to the right of the clutch spring assembly, there should be a flat metal area connected to the pedal assembly. It's like a flat L bracket sort of, can't remember perfectly. I put one end of the channel locks on the pin (left) and the other end on that L bracket thing (right). You probably could use the bottom of the spring assembly too but it might push the pin through at an angle and be harder.

Edit, pic might be easier. Put the channel locks like the red points here

I took out the top pin instead of the bottom, but there's very little room to get that top pin back in through the side. I'm going to need some assistance keeping the clutch down while I try to get it back in today. Going to need both hands on it.

when I remove the top pin I reinstall it opposite, so insert from the right side.
