UPDATE:

Guys, I just wanted to say that my dealer took care of me. I know this doesn't help you out but ever since I got on the Nissan USA Facebook page, the consumer affairs people handled the rest. They asked me to go to the dealer and have it diagnosed. I did. They replaced the clutch fluid with GT-R spec dot 4 fluid. It made things worse. My clutch pedal didn't return at all. They called me with this news and that they were taking care of it as a "good will" gesture. I was surprised and elated to hear the good news. After about 3 days of driving a rental car (Versa), they finished and I'm back in my ride with a big smile on my face. The car feels better than it has ever felt. The pedal seems stiffer than before but nothing too bad. I like the resistance now. All in all, not a bad experience. I paid $200 for a diagnostic, and even that is being reimbursed by consumer affairs.

They put GT-R clutch oil along with a new master and slave cylinder. I know it's another OEM CSC but I don't really care since it's covered for another year under warranty and my dealer doesn't install aftermarket parts.

Good luck everyone.

Hopefully that is a true statement, I bought mine brand new in May '14. Car has around 7000 miles, no launching or drag racing, just some autocross. Just checked the fluid reservoir it's still at max. Does anyone know for sure if this issue impacts 2013+?

Thank you,

Matt

They have done nothing to change the plastic CSC in our cars. It is still a plastic POS and the problem still affects all manual models up to the 16. Infact, someone on here with a brand new 16 with 500 miles had the CSC failure. Mine is a 13 and I saw the OEM that was removed and yup, still a plastic POS.....

I guess that works out if you decide to sell it in a year... Mine was replaced with an OEM through warranty and I'm expecting it to fail again in another 20k-30k miles or about 2 years.

It's replacing a poorly designed part with the exact same part

You are extremely lucky. Dealers DO NOT do this and ARE NOT this nice.

Same part and same issue with 13s 14s 15s and the current 16 model. They all have this problem.

Good will coverage is actually a possibility for those that spend a lot of money at the dealership. So if you get all your maintenance done at the dealer, you have a much better shot at this if you are beyond the 3yr/36K mile warranty. I guess making a big enough stink about it to corporate works occasionally as well.

Of course, the end result is you are still inconvenienced by the dealer having to do the work, and they install another prone-to-failure OEM part. Have fun dealing with the same issue down the road

Yes it was. And 60K isn't exactly a whole lot of miles - it's just better than the 20K that some people are getting. The damn thing should last at least as long as the clutch (100K+ miles). What I want to know is how many people (that don't burn up the clutch and can actually drive a MT properly) made it to clutch replacement without having to first address a CSC issue.

I've never burnt a clutch out in my life (I'd estimate 350-400k miles over four different cars). My CSC broke at 1,200 miles on the car so I'm not in that range at all. I had never even driven the car hard. 1,200 miles was the break in recommendation from Infiniti. I broke the mileage parking the car on a Friday. Took it out Saturday morning to finally see how much car I'd actually bought. Did full gear pulls through 3rd getting on the freeway. Exited to do it again on the next entrance ramp and when I got to the light the CSC had died.
