This really sucks big time. I wish I had lots of disposable income to hire lawyers, all kind of media including articles in the top 10 car magazines, TV, radio, newspapers and propaganda about this sh*t.

Sorry and rant over.

Yeah, gonna go ahead and replace the clutch and CSC. Still waiting on them to give me a quote on what they've done so far and parts they want to order. If I can find them cheaper he said do it. Gonna order the Zspeed tomorrow. He also has some neat heat-restraining kevlar wrap we're going to lock down around the pipes instead of buying the 40$ braided line for the CSC.

Just curious, as I check my fluids on a regular basis. How many of you had the CSC failure when your trans fluid was clear?

Mine was clear in reservoir at time of failure. But when I went to bleed CLUTCH hydraulics under car black fluid with black particles came out. When the CSC or CMC breaks its best to replace both parts & flush system to get any residual gunk out, just my opinion. I took advise from many others, & upgraded to a HD CSC and currently use GTR Fluid. I did replace CMC, clutch line, added new ACT Performance CLUTCH kit & ACT Streetlite Flywheel but that was done to improve performance & take advantage of down time due to broken CSC.

Definitely upgrade fluids. Joe (ZSpeed) 100% correct with draining trans & replacing with MOTUL Gear Oil (74.00 = 4qts). Extremely pleased with kit & flywheel . A very noticeable improvement in performance. Much more responsive. Haven't really got on it too hard as ACT Clutch Kit recommends 300-500 mile break-in before racing.

I love the ACT HDSS kit with their Streetlite FW. I used them on my Evo IX and it held up great with Auto-X.

I just got my Z back from AAM Competition yesterday. Took off from work today to drive around & "break it in". I'm very pleased with it. Pedal is a little stiffer than OEM clutch but still easy to drive in city stop-n-go traffic.

It was towed to AAM on Tuesday 7/7/2015. We arrived at 10:00am. Markus called me Wednesday 7/8/2015 at 4:45pm, "Joe your Z is ready!". Awesome! You may find cheaper places to go installation, but no way will you match the turn around & quality work of AAM Competition. Plus MAZOC Discounts on labor. Do you have MAZOC card? If so, bring it. Work Order - Install ACT HDSS Clutch Kit(Clutch plate/Pressure Plate, pilot bearing), Install ACT Streetlite Flywheel, Flush Trans & put in MOTUL Gear Oil, install HD CSC, install CMC, install insulated clutchline, flush clutch hydraulics & put in GTR Fluid.

AAM Competition is a quality shop, carries/makes quality products. Their prices reflect their quality in parts/labor/ and work ethics. I'm a loyal customer of AAM Competition. I highly recommend them.

KoolKarmaJoe, Mahalo for the info. I guess when it comes to the CSC, clear fluid doesn't mean much, when it wants to go it just goes.

And from my small sample experience, dark or dirty fluid doesn't mean it is going either. Mine was really dark, but the removed CSC (non failure removal) looked in good shape. So I guess a drop in fluid in the reservoir and the loss of clutch are the only real indicators.
