Normally, I like to have a running prototype before I say anything.

However, since I was getting some other circuit boards made, (GTR Converter!!!), I added a board that does "analog in" (pressure & temp) to CAN bus.

Once I'm further along with the local testing of the "GTR gauges", I'll assemble, program and test it on the bench.
Well you mentioned it on MYG37...so this will work with EcuTec only? I guess I'm going to get a gage then.

Here is what I use on my G37:

It uses the "GTR MFD gauges" that are part of the navigation system in 2010-2013 G37, 2010-2020 370z and a bunch of other Nissan/Infiniti vehicles.

As far as I know, only EcuTek will support a CAN bus input for a sensor.

For Bluetooth gauges, right now they work with our LCD Mini-dash and the GTR gauges on the G37/370 with navigation.
Down the road, there are plans to replace the Infiniti clock face with a high resolution LCD display and make it a "multi-gauge".
Data sources will be CAN bus and Bluetooth.

Nice my Prosports have the same and switchable white/ orange lighting so it matches the OE gauges as another option.

The SpeedHut gauges have 20 different faces that you can chose from. And a whole bunch of other options to chose from.

I’m seeing CAM Position Sensor online…

Rusty, about how long of a sensor cable do I need for an A pillar mount?

This will allow oil pressure monitoring and RPM reduction to protect the engine. It will also allow ethanol content, fuel pressure or almost anything else as an input.

I have designed/built a CAN bus module and will be testing it on my car with Eugene once this update is released.
Seems odd to quote myself.... Anyways, here is a small update:

This afternoon, I assembled the CAN bus sensor server and programmed it. It reads the analog sensor input, (pressure, temperature or something else) sends out the CAN bus data and works as it should. Fricken fantastic!

I've told Eugene and will be connecting with him tomorrow to see how/when testing with EcuTeck can happen.

Thanks for the update! A fellow Z owner told me that he already has an oil pressure input feature with his ECUTEK tune via RSenthalpy. Do you know how they’re doing this and/or if it is similar to what you’re doing?

I do! They simply re-purpose an existing analog input: evap pressure sensor, MAF sensor (requires speed density), heated O2 Sensor 2 or the A/C pressure sensor.

Full docs here: https://ecutek.atlassian.net/wiki/sp...+Output+Hijack

This method requires something to be removed from its original purpose and re-purposed. I believe most use the EVAP (EcuTek calls it CPC -> Carbon purge canister) pressure sensor as it is the least intrusive.

The new method simply uses a module that can read the analog pressure/temperature sensor and do the conversion of "voltage to value".
For example with a 150 psi sensor sending 2.5v, equals 75 psi. (Transfer function is "sensor output voltage x 37.5 - 18.75")

After the value is calculated, some smoothing is applied (you won't believe how much oil pressure actually bounces around!) and sent out as a message on the car's CAN bus.
This is received by the ECU, EcuTek looks for a specific message ID and reads the value. Now it can make decisions based on the value

The biggest benefit of using the CAN bus as in input, is that it doesn't remove any functionality from the car and it can stay emission compliant.

PLUS it is much easier to install as it only needs to tap into 4 wires (ignition, ground, CAN H and CAN L) that are easy to access at the IPDM/ER.
