I have a Nismo 1.5 way with all clutches engaged and I am using the OS Giken fluid with it. It is an.....interesting drive when it comes to roundabouts (of which there are a ton here). I have been considering dropping the diff to deactivate one clutch on each side as it is still pretty noticeable trying to part throttle through a turn.

The OS Giken fluid did calm it down considerably, before it was like gun shots out back and don't even think about driving it 2 way on the street.

When I put the hammer down though, it's awesome.

You think the Nismo unit is interesting on the street. Ever drive a vehicle with a Detroit Lock in it? It can be down right scary at first. Going into and coming out of corners. It will bang and clang, and wiggle the rear. Mid corner. Lift off the gas, and it will pull the front towards the inside. Step on the gas and it will push the front towards the outside.

Yeah I've driven an old f150 with a mechanical locker years ago and THAT was an experience The Nismo diff in 2 way and 85w140 was probably 80% as bad as that was

With the Detroit Locker. The shorter the wheelbase, the worse it is. I had one in a 1990 6ft bed regular cab Hardbody with the 3L V6 5 speed. Also had a Quaffie LSD in the front. Offroad, that truck went everywhere. I would still have it, if it didn't rust out.

Are you able to tell me when did you buy the OSG, and what is the part number for it?

There seems to be a heap of different versions/part numbers for the OSG diff for 370Z.

If I order one, there is a 3-4 month wait from local OSG Dealers here in Australia. But RHD Japan website:

https://www.rhdjapan.com/os-giken-su...3-z34-v35.html

says they have one in stock, but from their product page it looks totally different and has a different part no. than the current on the OSG official page:

https://osgikenusa.com/products/ns11...30273207435347
I've had a Quaife in my car since 2011 and do not have a problem with it, apart from whenever the car lifts a rear wheel (only on the track and with the shocks at full stiff) at Winton racetrack when it reverts to an open diff and single wheels - noted "feature" of a Quaife diff.

My race car had a spool for 20 years and that was brilliant for drive but creates a heap of push (understeer) on turn-in and you need to use the throttle to power steer it which can be a bit freaky (heading for the outside of the corner and you need to add power to get the rear to slide and tighten the corner!).

I now have a KAAZ 2-way in my race car and it has brilliant turn and hitting the gas at the apex it just squats and goes.

For those who are saying they get fish-tailing with a Quaife, think about your rear alignment - are you getting fish-tailing from the diff or is the car steering from the rear (because of alignment OR stuffed suspension or diff bushes?)

I'm not saying don;t change the diff, but before dropping 2 or 2.5 large on a diff change, make sure you understand what is happening and why

LMAO, mine is on the car and has been used other than to move the car on and off the trailer. It's you for $10k. And yes it is an auto diff.

I ran Nitto NT05's with the Quaife and Proxes R888R's with the OS Giken.
Just wondering, is the OS Giken noisy on the street?

The Quaife is almost dead silent to me, just a little bit of whirring every now and then, but wondering how the OSG is, will I draw attention in parking lots?

Mine is dead quite. Use the OSG lube and you will not have any issues.

Just use the OS Giken fluid and you will be fine. That makes all the difference in the world.
