Default Z1 High Flow Race Intake Upgrade Kit for Z1 or Stillen Gen 3

Has anyone tried the Z1 High Flow Race Intake Upgrade Kit for Z1 or Stillen Gen 3? If you have is it worth the upgrade and how loud is the induction created by the upgrade?

I have it for my Admin Tuning intakes but haven't be able to install it yet. I couldn't find a local comfortable welding my crash bar so bought the Fast Intentions replacement and by the time it arrived it was pretty much winter here in Germany...

I have it with my fast Intentions crash bar. With an exhaust, I don't hear induction noise unless I'm standing in front of the car. From a performance standpoint, it's a worthwhile upgrade.

There is some work involved, I have a local welder that modified my crashbar; complete blueprint of where to cut & weld is listed.
Cast aluminum velocity stacks are 6” @the base & filters add a lot more surface area with the inverted filters.
I did fab a bracket to support stacks & hold everything in place vs. letting them just lay there. I’m retuning finally next week/ but there’s a big difference of filter size vs Z1’s base kit....without having the expense of a welding fee-200 isn’t bad for the 5 or 6 whp.

Hi, I have the Gen 3. No induction noise like previous 4 cylinder motors with Aem intakes. I personally think the Stillen Gen 3's are expensive but of cheap quality.

I've had these for a while but never got re-tuned, I didn't hear any significant difference in induction noise.

To install these big Z1 filters on a G3, did you cut the 3" bell off of the end of the tubes?

My G3 tubes have a really bad transition from the 3" bell adapter to the 2.5" tube, which cannot help airflow.

What option did you select when you bought it? Website has Z1 and Stillen. Did they fit right on the AdminTuning intakes? Do you know if the crash bar fits the G37 coupe?

For clarity, I *think* the poster intended to say the FI TOW bar (sits out a bit and relocates the tow mount) not the crash bar. https://www.fastintentions.com/produ...roducts_id/177

FI does not sell a crash bar (online). The "crash bar" refers to the frame mounted chuck of aluminum that sits behind the polystyrene foam, that sits behind the front clip/bumper

IIRC I selected the Z1 since the silicone coupler provided for that version is 3" to 3", and it fit with no modifications. No idea as to whether or not it will fit a G37, you would need to contact Fast Intentions to verify.

...and yes, it is a tow bar, not an actual crash bar. If you wanted one of those instead, there are a few companies such as Street Faction that produce bash bars for Zs that may fit a G37. Again, you'd have to verify with the manufacturer.

I used the F.I. crash bar to fix my oil cooler clearance and fit the filters. Not sure about G37 fitment, but they have a bit more room up front and the crash bar doesn't need modified

No one is going to call a replacement bumper a bumper or a crash bar because of liability issues. It will definitely be weaker if you cut that much material out of it. The FI tow bar definitely will not have the same rigidity as the stock bumper. Say your prayers and hope you never need to use it for it's intended purpose.
