I've followed this issue pretty closely since purchasing my Z … and in fact decided to replace the OEM CSC with the Z Speed HD CSC (along with a new CMC) at approx. 5K miles to avoid being stranded due to a failure of the stock CSC. In terms of the Z Speed HD CSC, I'm not aware that it's "hit or miss". I know of one failure when it was combined with a Spec clutch kit, and that combination simply didn't work. There may also have been failures when the CMC was not swapped out at the time the HD CSC was installed. Joe at Z Speed cautions that both the CMC and CSC need to be changed at the same time. I'm not aware of any failures of the HD CSC other than those mentioned. I've experienced no issues. That said, I bleed the clutch system regularly using Motul RBF 600 to remove any fluid that might be contaminated … usually twice per year. Trust this helps!

Shops not changing the pilot bushing is the biggest noise complaint issue, If they don't get changed chances are it's going to make noise when you get your car back or soon after. Once again, Make sure you get your old parts back, All of them, so you know it was changed. The only way to insure this is to tell them ahead of time you want ALL your old parts back. Most other noise issues are people don't realize the new clutch and single mass flywheel they just had installed will make more trans noise than the 50+ Pound dual mass stock assy that was removed. Bleeder screws, so far I've actually seen one and it was extremely over tightened which damaged the seat, On the other hand the screw is VERY easy to replace.
