DIY Pokeball Shift knob Cover :D

I have a dragonball I wanted to use as a shift knob but I'm afraid it'll crack if I try to drill it. To my knowledge you pretty much have

To my knowledge you pretty much have to destroy the stock shift knob to get it off so I'd be left with a rod if I fail :\
