DIY Pokeball Shift knob Cover :D
So about 1 month ago I purchased my gorgeous JDM: Password shift knob, looks great and i am throwing shifts like a boss :driving:
https://scontent-a-atl.xx.fbcdn.net/...cb&oe=55121453 Then the cold front came around and the knob was sooo cold I was leaving a glove in my car so i can drive. I Googled around to see what covers they had available for sale, none really caught my eye. I would consider myself somewhat of a creative person (and geek) so i came up with this solution. https://scontent-b-atl.xx.fbcdn.net/...b4&oe=5517AC41 I found a girl that made one herself for her brother with tutorial. Took awhile to figure out, I am still a pretty terrible knitter. It doesn't slide around like i thought it would, the grip in the center helps eliminate that issue. Overall, i really love it and gives a cute personal touch. I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was! |
I use a sock on my knob but yours is much more appealing.
Nice knittin' kitten  |
^ which knob and kitten your talking about?

Kitten - if you could knit up a Death Star version, I'd buy  good for those hot summer days

That's adorable :) And awesome that you're from Austin. I would have thought one of the Northerners on here would have come up with something like that before (although I guess a lot of them don't drive it in the winter).
I actually like the cold on my hands. Of course, I'm still driving with the windows down in 40F. But I would be interested in one for the summer. My TWM knob gets so hot on some days that the average person couldn't even touch it long enough to drive the car. I can't hold onto it for more than 4-5 sec at a time, and I have "asbestos hands", as my wife calls them, from working in a kitchen for several years. Something with a Z on top or on the side would be sweet. Simple black and white pattern would suffice for me. I think I'm going to look into this. Nice work :tiphat: |

hmmmm I would consider selling these, the only problem is the exact dimensions. In order for it to fit snug i had to leave a small open (like a jacket) in the back and then slip it on, crochet it shut... So in theory anyone close to me i could... mailing out would probably be a whole lot of back and forth unless they have the EXACT knob as mine. IDK i might consider this... i will have to make another one and play around with it. |
Heh heh that's pretty cute
Make one like a Misfits Crimson Ghost! |
I think I should try doing a dragonball
|
Very cool!

Gimme Gimme Gimme!! :icon17: I need to knit one asap!

I have a dragonball I wanted to use as a shift knob but I'm afraid it'll crack if I try to drill it. To my knowledge you pretty much have to destroy the stock shift knob to get it off so I'd be left with a rod if I fail :\
