The weight the spoiler adds will stop the base shocks from holding the hatch up. If you don’t replace them it will slowly fall and not keep itself up. It also will likely take multiple button presses to get it to release fully from the latched position. |

You're correct. I installed an early model nismo spoiler on my sport and it takes a couple pushes of the button now to unlatch it. I'll be upgrading to heavy duty struts.
