First of all, awesome write-up!

Has anybody ever dropped a screw while trying to screw on the spoiler? What to do now

it's stuck inside the trunk.

Yep, I did this too. I purchased a magnetic pickup tool from O'Reilly's. It only took three attempts to fish out the nut.
