Bumping this thread because my "key" light just went on. I parked the car, did not turn the wheel to prevent it from locking, pressed the start button and engine

Bumping this thread because my "key" light just went on. I parked the car, did not turn the wheel to prevent it from locking, pressed the start button and engine started. I don't wanna lock the wheel because I'm afraid car wont start lol.
Does the light usually come on before the system fails or does it just goes out of the blue?
